Lol has been added to the dictionary if you have not heard, and XD is a text-based smiley, thus your argument is invalid! You'll find minimal to no grammar/usage/spelling mistakes within my posts, because unlike most of the internet, I proofread.
So be it. I do not personally use a word (or an acronym, as is respective to this case) merely because of its existence, but your decision is not mine.
That being said, I still have no comprehension of why a text-based smiley within a sentence constitutes proper grammar.
