This version is compatible with ZC 2.5 RC3. Use at your own discretion. I haven't tested it thoroughly yet.

A few changes I just made:
  • The overworld water is now different, walkability-wise, to account for RC3 flipper behavior. I might have to make some more changes to other waterways. Let me know what problems you see.
  • The hall of statues (Beneath the Deku Jungle) now has a handy warp return point after you brave the maze. I hope it's permanent. It might be on the next version. It'll warp you back and forth between the south areas of the cave and the internal area after the mazes.
As always, Photobucket.net is your friend. Or Imageshack. However you can get a bug screenshot to me is best.
Has this happened to anyone else so far? Because those bushes should be unslashable when you first start. They are slashable combos after you pick up the dream crystal thing. You're basically warped to an entirely different overworld. That's why the bushes "become" slashable - because they're not the same bushes. icon_razz.gif

dfalvim - Bugs fixed. I mean to the extent where the warps now actually lead somewhere, rather than nowhere. Unfortunately, not being the quest's original designer, I have no idea where they're supposed to lead, so I made them lead back to the start of their respective dungeons. Plausible fix?

Ferentz - I just "fixed" that. Or at least I made some sort of a fix, anyway. I made the overworld lakes fully unwalkable, rather than half and half. Hopefully the flippers will give us no more issues. There are less walkable spaces near lakes though, unfortunately, but it was the only possible fix I could think of.
Also, for anyone interested, "Level 9" (There are no "levels" in that respect, really - just different areas.) is actually in the Deku Jungle, indeed, as accessible by blowing the whistle where you originally went in the start of the game. The actual entrance to the cave where the final dungeon is reached is in the upper-left-most screen, but one down, one right, on the map. Though there isn't a screen to the north of it anyway. There are six small stone statues in a horizontal line, and two larger stone statues below them.

Thank you shadow! I finish exams tomorrow so until then I will stuck doing statistics but I will play this again very soon, thanks!

Shadow " thanks a lot for this post, I'm starting again,,
Well this quest got sort of power on me ans I return to play once more
Actually I'm still finishing up to fix this machine and need to go on ..
I'll use my favorite player. RC2 on this

Er ... Use RC3. icon_heh.gif It's really more compatible with RC3 than with RC2. That's why I suddenly decided to update it in RC3, and not in RC2.

I have even more fun stuff coming. I want to fix up the little changes I made. Eventually I want to introduce a few new dungeons in various places to teach the player a few tricks.

Hi Shadow Tiger, have you added /changed much yet? Or do you just need compatibility and error testing?

Enjoy Life!

Thanks - Joe

So far, I need to perfect the transition between the pre-2.10 version. (It was even before ZC 1.92 Build 182. O_O That was when slashing and bush / tall grass / shallow water was implemented.)

Any idea for a dungeon to learn slash?

After slash is learned, the player will be able to learn each of the new skills. Maybe even get some of the new interesting rings, like the peril ring and even better, the whisp ring. Oh that will be extremely useful in so many places.

I'm definitely thinking of having at least one new skill location on every "overworld" type area of the game, with the Slash being able to be learned at least by the time you get the whistle, and certainly close enough to your starting location that it won't necessarily be difficult to miss.

Look for the sleeping cat. ;-3 Ehehaha..

Gotta make new tiles for it first. Or possibly import them. This particular Link character, I have absolutely no idea who drew it. I think Dart Zaidyer did, a long, long time ago. Nothing impossible to mock up.

A picture is always helpful, because then I can rush right to the place and upload a new version.

I also feel like creating a new warp ring on the overworld to make it a little easier to travel around.

I'll take a look at all the areas that are now unwalkable due to this water fix.

Hi, really sorry about that. icon_unsettled.gif Completely forgot about that little path. >.< Let me know if you encounter any other areas like that.

But as far as I can see, there aren't really any more areas of water/land borders that have halfway walkable edges. That was what was causing the issues with the flippers.

- DoY 2012 RC3 -

Latest Changes:
  • Bush Clippings and Flower clippings! I changed quite a few bushes and .. other .. bushes .. to bushes and flower type combos, rather than slash combos.
  • Slash has been fully added. The place to learn this has not, however.
  • Charge has been fully added. The place to learn this has not, however.
  • You can now use items from the borders of the screen.
  • Link's Magic Shield (L2) has been made stronger, and can now block more projectiles and even reflect a few.
  • Link's Mirror Shield (L3) has been made far stronger, and can now even block boss fireballs. This ought to give some players a fighting chance.
  • The Super Bomb ratio has been changed from 4:1 to 2:1. This means you can now carry half as many Super bombs as regular bombs, rather than a quarter as many.
  • The walkway vravelo has illustrated has been expanded to allow the player to walk across to the south.
  • A walkway to the north of the above point has been shrunken to disallow the player to visit it, because they weren't supposed to in the first place.
  • The Stone of Agony has been modified (It was already in the engine) for possible future use.

... I'm dumb. -.- I don't know if the past post has the version that you need, but when I opened up the latest version on my end, there was indeed a fully walkable path there in that screenshot. icon_shrug.gif

Download, and don't forget to overwrite the old file.

... Huh. Wait, no, that's not what's supposed to happen. That one screen is supposed to only occur after the dam floods the lake. It warps you to the identical copy of it but with the water risen.

You CAN walk over the bridge to speak to the Zora king, right?

EDIT: I just tested it out that you can.

EDIt2: Somehow I broke the mirror shield. It doesn't even block zora fireballs. I reverted all three shields to their original state. icon_unsettled.gif

Also, just for kicks: When you get the dream whistle, there's a new house in the village for you to use the whistle on.

It's so awesome. It's only a tiny preview of what is to come...

In the Lake the land pathway is available before you flood the dam and you can visit Zora's Adobe and get a heart piece. However once you visit the dam and win the flippers the land path disappears once you approach the entrance to the lake.

That is (I believe) how it was when released and it still seems to work that way. However the water warps do not seem to be working. After winning the flippers I have been unable to get any of the water warps to work. I have not checked all the water warps yet.

Enjoy Life!

Thanks - Joe

Forgot to mention, there are many (actually most) places that Link cannot go from water to land. For example, I cannot get to the Excavation site because Link won't emerge from the water to walk on land. I could take pictures but it is hard to find a spot that works properly so you should have no problem seeing what I' talking about.

Ah, thanks. The swamp water has been fixed. It was a different group of combos, so my initial changes to water didn't take effect on them.

I'm making a shortcut to the swamp from various places on Hyrule right now. Should shorten things up a bit.

EDIT: Download. The shortcut works. Also fixed a walkability bug when swimming into swamp "houses."
