How do you beat the bats in level 3 to get the ladder?

Your target is not the bats, but the statues themselves. The bats are there to annoy you.

Do I need the items from Level 4 and 5 to complete the respective triforce dungeons?

No. Once you've found your way into the wastelands surrounding level 4, you can enter all six triforce dungeons and complete them.

So that means....ok

So I'm trying to shoot that eye just one screen north of the Triforce #4 entrance, let's see what works.

Curious about level 3. The doors with the music symbols seem to correspond with the pillar message about "playing the royal theme".

But, when I stand on one of the note symbols and use the ocarina, nothing happens.

Assistance would be appreciated.

it's cuz you need to learn the royal melody somewhere in 2F.

Ok, so I'm in the Oderra Graveyard and.....WOW. The skull boss in the middle of the room is ANNOYING. I used bomb on first form then killed that ooze surrounded by hands. The 2nd one I then killed the like like-esque enemies. How do I beat the third form? With bombs as well, since I ran out of them?

I beat Master Dome and last boss. icon_frown.gif But I have a question. Does this quest have one ending? I think that was bad ending... icon_cry.gif

SoStaci, you need at least 16 bombs but 20 are preferable to fully beat the Catacombs boss.

Nameless, the ending may not suit everyone, but given the overall story and mood, it was the best fitting one.

Gotta say, I am thoroughly enjoying level 3. Very well done. Not nearly as frustrating as level 2 was.

I just got the Royal Melody. Went down to a "music door" but, it didn't open, even when I played the ocarina. I figure there's something else I need to do first. icon_shrug.gif

Ah well. Back to the key hunt.

Teilyr, that is weird. Did you really find the Royal Melody stone and learned the melody, but the note doors still won't open?
There's a trigger in the stone tablet room... it might be that right after you learned the melody, you maybe saved/quitted? If that is so then unfortunately you have to return to the Royal Melody tablet and after you have learned it, walk south a few tiles to trigger the secrets so you can carry on. icon_wink.gif

Nameless, the ending is not your ordinary happy happy ending and some people don't like the fact, but for the love of god do not call it bad. >_<

DarkFlameWolf, where the heck did you pull that 16 bombs number? O_O If I remember correctly, you need 3 bombs to kill the guardian and 4 bombs to kill the boss. That's 7 bombs... but of course the more bombs you have the better.

Well, 7 bombs is the amount of bombs you should have AT LEAST icon_wink.gif
But just in case... you should bring lots of extra bombs!
