Looks like Nintendo is trying to appeal to both newcomers and veterans with these new features. I will/would never use those tutorial videos, but I'm glad they plan to include them anyway so casual players/newbies can get in on the fun. In the meantime, the experts get some extra challenges. So why is everyone not happy?

Unfortunately, it looks like all the new stuff that was promised just looks like some extra features. I was really hoping for new things in-game icon_confused.gif

But in-game help videos? Really? That's just dumbing it down.

With all this super guide and help video stuff in recent Nintendo games, it's almost like Nintendo is saying "You don't have to try anymore, we'll hold your hand through the entire thing!"

I'll be honest: This sounds more like a description for a different Zelda game entirely. Ganondorf didn't want to control time, just Hyrule and the Triforce. In fact, I'm pretty sure he didn't know about Link's time-travel abilities; no one else seemed to. And "magical journey through time"? You jump between two time periods. Which was a great device but I wouldn't justify that sort of description, which makes it sound so much more broad, for just two time periods.

Self-induced nitpick period over, back to the new features. icon_deformed.gif

I hope they buff the bosses in Master Quest as they really need a buff xD

I hated going through an insane dungeon only to have an easy boss at the end. MQ needs harder bosses, maybe increase HP and damage?

Not just higher HP, more tactics and more powerful attacks then before. Sorta like hard mode in Megaman 10. The bosses throw more projectiles then before.

Companies used to get you to keep playing a game by making you have to work at getting stuff. Now they've realized that if you make a game easy, it will be beaten faster and therefore you will most likely buy more games.

Not trying to get off-topic, but have you noticed the increased amount of party and casual games (not saying they're all bad) Nintendo made around the same time all this super guide crap started? It's a big slap in the face to hardcore gamers! Mario and Donkey Kong have already been infected by this stuff, and now they're bringing it into an awesome franchise like Zelda! (See that? I included Zelda so I wasn't totally off-topic icon_deformed.gif )

First off, Bosh Rush mode is awesome. About time they got it, but still not enough to get me to buy a game I already own again.

As for the super guide, quit complaining. Don't like it, don't use it. Adding a super guide means they can appeal to casual gamers WITHOUT making the game too easy for hardcore gamers, meaning they don't dumb your game down. Be happy, it's a good thing.

Boss rush should be awesome! icon_biggrin.gif

And I guess Super Guide is okay if you think about it that way. The way I've been thinking about it is that new/casual gamers get to a hard part, the use super guide, start relying on super guide, complain that they can't play the game without super guide, game makers decrease difficulty. This process has already been happening (go play an difficult game on NES/SNES, then go play a difficult game on Wii/DS), super guide is just going to speed up the process, IMO.

Boss Rush Mode would be great except it's fighting several easy bosses. I know Zelda isn't supposed to be difficult, but I mean, I sometimes consider OoT's bosses to be mini-bosses at most, compared to some of the other games.

C'mon, I can't be the only one who thought "A Zelda classic" stood out in that article. icon_deformed.gif

The game looks so... lively. Like maybe it'll have such a better atmosphere than the original, I dunno. And I saw that part about Master Quest reversing things, but did that really mean "flip the entire game," or just certain items and layouts and such? Well either way, it'll be interesting, but we'll see...

Why would that stand out? It's the greatest Zelda game ever.

Oh dear Happy Mask Shop! What have they done to you? You look flamboyant, thus killing the creepiness of the Happy Mask Salesman, thus destroying Majora's Mask's storyline! Noooooo!

In any case, looks like the Water Temple still has the same concept, I was frightened for a while after some rumors.
