I wouldn't recommend it. You'd ultimately have to sacrifice quality to get it in on time...

No I wouldn't. It's just a matter of fiddling with ZC's palette limitations and importing what I already drew =x.

See wouldn't that prove challenging given that none of your non ZC tiles adhere to any sort of palette limitations? It sounds like the kind of thing that would take a couple days unless you're just sitting on free time and that doesn't leave much time for designing the actual screen...

Indeed it can. If you can't reduce it down to 17 colors by making certain colors use relatively close colors (I know Radien knows something for a tiny bit of extra leniency there, forgot what he said to me though) then you'd have to do the 8-bit thing which I'm not fully familiar with at this point. There's gonna be quality loss regardless though if the image uses many more colors then 17 that aren't too close in brightness, contrast, and color. I've managed to rip tiles from FF4 PSP Collection that used 18 colors, I made one of the shades of black share a shade close to it so I'd have 17 colors and then imported it. So I only had to mess with one color there, but images with more colors wont be so easy! And will take time to work on. Hopefully I am making sense tonight. I worked 10 hours today and then had to drive back home from another state.

That's a good target, but typically the contest starts Sunday night, so you'd have a little buffer on Sunday too if you need it.

Shouldn't need more then a day for a screen. Just putting it off for a little later because I've been busy with other ZC-related things. That deadline sounds perfect though nicklegends. I'll stay true to my word, I knew I'll have time because the screenshot 399 poll is still going!
