Yeah, it's rather unfortunate. In 2.5 RC1, the ladder is broken. In 2.5 RC2, the flippers are broken.

2.5b18 seems to be the best alternative. Both of these items work.

Downloaded the version suggested from post #445 and tried using 2.5b18 / RC1.
The bushes below Link's house become "UNSLASHABLE" . Am unable to progress.
Any suggestions, or other more recent workable file around?

Are you sure you totally finished the first level? This happened to me. My guess is you haven't.

Hey guys, I played this quest like 3 yrs ago. Quit in marathon (so close) because of 39879789 continue bugs.

I remember I could never find the Storm Tower boss key, is that in Blester or the tower itself? Where is it? Im playing through now and dont want to be caught up on that. Please let me know. Thanks.

Great Job redoing all these bugfixs btw, I used to debug this way back when with myriad screenshots etc.

Nana if you have not found level 9 start your search on the mountain where the first sword was won. Unless Shadow Tiger changed it that is the place to begin your trek to level 9.

I just entered the Corrupt Deku Tree for the first time... I have a feeling it's going to be ROUGH.

Turns out the Storm Tower boss key is in storm tower (fall down some particularly crafty holes to access it).

As for the Marathon boss key: it's on the 3rd floor, but you have to access a secret stair case that takes you to a different part of F3, said stair case is on F2 towards the top left of map. The mirror will greatly help to find it, revealing a bombable wall on the top left then a unique invisible bridge. The boss key is particularly crafty in the way it is hidden, dont give up looking on F3. Hope that helps to clarify.

Props to shadow tiger for fixing so many bugs. This playthrough for me has been 1000x better and more enjoyable because of your work. A truly epic quest merits this effort, and it's much appreciated.

I'll post when I beat Gannon, just to say I have... by that time, I will have earned bragging rights. But knowing C-Dawg's style, Deku Tree is going to be hard as crap... icon_sorry.gif

So I tried this on 2.5b18 and I am sorry to report the flippers are screwed up bad. I still would like to play this. My options are 2.10.2 or I suppose I could try the LI build. Anyone played on either of these versions and care to report how it went?

This version is compatible with ZC 2.5 RC3. Use at your own discretion. I haven't tested it thoroughly yet.

A few changes I just made:
  • The overworld water is now different, walkability-wise, to account for RC3 flipper behavior. I might have to make some more changes to other waterways. Let me know what problems you see.
  • The hall of statues (Beneath the Deku Jungle) now has a handy warp return point after you brave the maze. I hope it's permanent. It might be on the next version. It'll warp you back and forth between the south areas of the cave and the internal area after the mazes.

Has this happened to anyone else so far? Because those bushes should be unslashable when you first start. They are slashable combos after you pick up the dream crystal thing. You're basically warped to an entirely different overworld. That's why the bushes "become" slashable - because they're not the same bushes. icon_razz.gif

dfalvim - Bugs fixed. I mean to the extent where the warps now actually lead somewhere, rather than nowhere. Unfortunately, not being the quest's original designer, I have no idea where they're supposed to lead, so I made them lead back to the start of their respective dungeons. Plausible fix?

Ferentz - I just "fixed" that. Or at least I made some sort of a fix, anyway. I made the overworld lakes fully unwalkable, rather than half and half. Hopefully the flippers will give us no more issues. There are less walkable spaces near lakes though, unfortunately, but it was the only possible fix I could think of.



Also, for anyone interested, "Level 9" (There are no "levels" in that respect, really - just different areas.) is actually in the Deku Jungle, indeed, as accessible by blowing the whistle where you originally went in the start of the game. The actual entrance to the cave where the final dungeon is reached is in the upper-left-most screen, but one down, one right, on the map. Though there isn't a screen to the north of it anyway. There are six small stone statues in a horizontal line, and two larger stone statues below them.

Well this quest got sort of power on me ans I return to play once more
Actually I'm still finishing up to fix this machine and need to go on ..
I'll use my favorite player. RC2 on this
