I hate microtransactions myself. I was referring to nostalgia itself. For example, the whole "games were better in my days" kind of rambling.

Microtransactions were just a dramatic example meant to drive home the larger point.  That often, the argument is more about why games were better, rather than just time-period-fanboyism.  Of course, there are idiots who don't present it well, or just get angry when someone disagrees, which is just as bad.

Me when people feel like only their opinion matters and nobody else's matters. I hate it when people feel so entitled and want to really drive their opinion home to make people go crazy. Have some respect for others is what I say.

It's so annoying when people try to jam their opinions down other people's throats. I hate it

- Someone telling me to watch my privilege because I happen to be white and male, and therefore I never deal with adversity and should never have a right to complain about anything.  Not that I complain much to begin with.

- Being told I am racist, sexist, or some other form of bigot because I said something that happens to be considered a microaggression, especially when I am not aware of certain subtle contexts of word usage.  With that being said, I love people from all over the world, but I also believe that it's okay to have conversations about things that might be sensitive for some people.  Communication is a key component to proper education.

- People being overly obsessed with political correctness, to the point where they feel the need to come up with special phrases for many simple things, out of fear of being even the tiniest bit offensive.  People should be judged by their actions more than their words.

- Any real and usually obvious form of racism, sexism, or other bigotry, thus what is considered an "aggression" (rather than a microaggression).

Just out of curiousity, have you ever been told to check your privilage outside of an internet setting?  Honestly, it seems to me like just an internet thing, as I personally haven't experienced it (though, that doesn't disprove its existance.)

I've run into it on occasion in university settings, although they never used those exact words - they'd spell it out and say something like "you only see X because you're Y - it's different for Z". (A few would throw the word "privilege" in there somewhere, but never "check".)

It's much more common on the Internet, in any case.

I'll admit that I have only experienced it on the internet.  I graduated from college before that atmosphere has emerged in a lot of such places.  While I currently teach at a community college, I have not witnessed any of that there.  I have not had the conversation with anybody who teaches among the social sciences or humanities on whether or not they have had to deal with that, where it's more likely to occur.  As a math professor, I haven't had to deal with any of it in my classes, which makes sense, since I don't teach a subject matter on social issues.

It also effects people from groups they try to protect.  My wife is black(subject to racism), dark(subject to colorism, which is similar but different), Ghanian(subject to ethnicism), and of course female(subject to sexism).

Because of the Social Justice Warrior culture, it has become very hard for her to interact with people.  People are so scared of offending her that she is hardly able to talk to anyone before they excuse themselves.  She can't even make friends(save for her fellow Ghanians), because people don't want to offend her. 10x that when she's at work.

TLDR, it effects everyone, not just us straight white males.

To be fair, being that afraid of someone because of all those attributes can also be construed as racism.  I won't go further on this, as it's a controversial subject, and would be best suited as a separate topic, however, I find it sad that people are so afraid of offending people that they choose to shun them instead...

That, in a way, is the point.  If people are becomming bigots (albiet, of a more benign sort than what we typically think of) in reaction to the SJW culture, then they really should take a hint and knock it off.

I get slightly agitated when I can hear people chew; especially with their mouth open. I also sometimes am aggravated by others' key clicks when they type. These moods come and go for me.

When I say something and then somebody else immediately says "that is what she said", as if I copied somebody else. Aaaaghhh, NO! I said it, okay? You literally just heard me say it, what the fuck is the point in saying otherwise? Okay so maybe you heard somebody else say something similar but unless you're going to say who, or explain what the context is, how is that relevant to our current conversation?

Sometimes I just don't get people - and this just makes it even harder...

(Sorry...)

I have to say people that get offended by every little thing, like the tumblr Social Justice Warriors taking offense to anything that isn't 100% politically correct.  This is why I say sugarcoating things needs to stop, because it's raising a generation of people who just haven't been exposed to the world, and haven't learned to grow a backbone.

Something that I forgot to mention here earlier: When people downplay achievements and over emphasize failures, be it their own or that of others. In the case that they are over emphasizing their own failures, it just feels pitiful and honestly becomes REALLY annoying when they do it often. Just shut up. Accept that you aren't perfect, but also accept that you have done fantastic things too! (Don't completely over emphasize achievements either, since that just comes off as arrogant, but that doesn't mean make yourself feel like a failure.)

And then, it should be obvious why it's annoying when they downplay the achievements of others. Guy beats you in a close game of Smash? "Yeah, I'm just having an off day." But when you beat them in an equally close game and say something like "LOL GET REKT NOOB" (that on its own is annoying), it makes you obnoxious and really hard to be around in general.
