I used to go to a lot more conventions, but now I usually only go to Ohayocon which is coming up next weekend. I used to go to Armegedicon/ Anime Punch, and Matsuricon which are pretty small (a few hundred people) compared to Ohayocon which is well over 12k now, and grows every year. If anyone lives in the central Ohio area, you should go to Ohayocon.

 

I met Nightmare (JamesQuest creator) at a convention once. I don't think it was OC though, I feel like it was a smaller con that was still at the convention center.

 

I'm planning on going to Matsuricon this August. A lot of people said great things about this con. It's going to be my farthest con.

I'll probably be going back to MagFest next month, though in a far smaller group than I went with the year before.

 

In July, I'll be going to BronyCon in inner Harbor, Baltimore, Maryland.   I need a 4th person if anyone is interested in going.  It's me, my sister, and one other person from PureZC.

Well six of these cons are in my area so no need to stay at a hotel for them. The most expensive con in this list is Youmacon. But all the other cons hotels are around the $100-$250 range.

Over the weekend, I went to a college convention called Almacon in Alma, MI. And I was fortunate enough to play a match of Super Smash Bros Wii U with David Vincent who voices Robin. We had such a fun time!

Yea, I'm not very photogenic when running on no sleep, but such is the nature of the beast. I will say though, for my first anime convention, I think I picked a good one. I had a fun time all around, aside from a small unrelated hiccup. The music was especially neat. I got to see a small handful of very talented bands there (Arc Impulse and Freezepop, to name a couple,) and even given some lackluster work on the part of the sound guy, it was a great time. Dealer merch selection was pretty good. I couldn't afford much, so I just picked up a handful of buttons and a pair of fox-gloves. 

 

Todd Habercorn's (sp?) after hours panel-thing was hilarious. That guy has a foul mouth like I've never seen. Also, I may have bummed a cigarette to Mr. Satan.

 

Now, as for Lansing itself...other than the con, I'll probably never go there again. Michigan roads are bad, but sweet Jesus, I felt like the wheels were gonna rattle right off of my truck.

This summer, I'm heading to my first Ohio conventions. First is Colossal Con in Sandusky. I'm super excited for that con. But I'm most excited for Matsuricon 2016 out in Columbus. All my friends have been recommending this con to me.

Might be heading to ComicCon London again next weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store this year. Seeing how last year was mostly FNaF stuff, this year's probably Undertale stuff lol

I haven't made it up to Colossal Con yet, cause it is a big commitment, and a lot of time to take off of work, I'd like to go though. I've been to a few Matsuri Cons. It's really fun, and chill, even if it is (was?) one of the smaller cons out there.
