This pretty much is how fans reacted to Nintendo's conference.

Disappointments
.

Also Star Fox Zero looks like they used a bunch of stuff from the canceled Star Fox 2. (also Graphics of Zero looks bad)

The fact that it took everything it made Zelda so great and throw it from the window? (let's be honest, Zelda games started doing it aa early as ALttP, but it has become worse and worse). The fact it abuses fanservice in a very negative tone (unlike Smash whose mere existence comes from fanservice and it does it in a very lighthearted, fun way)? The fact it abuses DLC? The fact it relies on cool, action moments that are basically alien to Zelda? The fact its gameplay is a mere button masher, unlike early Zelda games were positioning and timing was still relevant? The fact it's just a Warriors gane but with a Zelda skin? The fact the female villain, who is in danger to have a sudden wardrove malfunction at any moment, is not even allowed to have an honest lust for power?

And no, don't say it's a mere spinoff. Hyrule Warriors, as a game, has no good reason to exist. It was made because they could made it. Nothing like early Zelda, or classic and modern Mario, where there's some incentive and creativeness and sincere intentions behind.

And while it's too early to speak about Metroid Soccer's quality as a game, again, I repeat, Youtube people are hating it with burning passion. And you cannot acuse Youtubers from being alternative gamers who are critical to modern Nintendo's practises. Yet they (and many communities) are very vocal against Metroid Soccer. Somethink to think about.

Hyrule Warriors is a mere spinoff. It's a fact you cannot deny. If you don't like it, it's not for you. It's made for fun and it's not hurting anything. I don't get how hard it is for people to realize this.

If it survived pinball, it can survive soccer.

It's more than soccer anyway.

But still not quite Metroid.

Well, I found some of their other (normal) nintendo directs they did in the past more interesting than this one, I really expected more. It seemed like the main attraction was Mario Maker but I have to say I like it more and more. If only they would explain the game in a more detailed fashion.

The difference is that when Metroid Pinball (another game that also did not have a good reason to exist) was made, it was a mere years after Prime. Metroid now is irrelevant. Nobody except Metroid fans care about the franchise anymore.

And the same can be said about Zelda.

Just finished watching Nintendo's E3 Digital Event, and I have to say, it was really underwhelming. I was exciting for a ton of new games to be revealed, but most of the video was just them expanding on games we've already seen. I can't say Nintendo was the worst this year at E3, but it was definitely not the best, in my opinion. At the very least, Star Fox seems really interesting and I still love Xenoblade Chronicles and Mario Maker, but Metroid was honestly depressing.

It's really clear that this year, Nintendo didn't do well, as evidenced by the number of dislikes the Digital Event video received (at the moment dislikes highly surpass the number of likes). I hope Nintendo can still pull through, though.

Looks like Rodea Sky Soldier and Xenoblade Chronicles X are the only 2 Wii U games I'm picking up for the rest of this year. That was a rather disappointing digital event. There was no surprises at all to me. Just a bunch of update announcements. :(

Overall, Sony probably had the best conference just a small hair above Microsoft. The Last Guardian, Horizon, and FFVII Remake were the best announcements from them IMO. Microsoft actually had a decent conference. I'm glad they only focused on games and only games. Nintendo...what the hell happened? Your earlier directs were way better than this.

I-I *cries*

Why!? Why did you have to ruin Metroid, Nintendo? Whyyyyyyy!?

Actually, I am quite surprised and kinda pleased, really. This means that Metroid isn't dead! They are also only showing games that will be released this year! That means it''s likely for next year's E3!

Of course, it looks like this "spinoff" will suck. A lot.

On the bright side, they announced a Paper Mario game that looks like it won't be complete crap *coughstickerstarcough*

Also, Triforce Heroes or whatever it's called looks more superior than Four Swords, and maybe as good as FSA!

Everything else looks pretty good. Especially Hyrule Warriors Legends.

I liked this direct, I don't see what everyone's getting all uppity about.

Sure, it was a little underwhelming, but that's about it. It didn't have the most MAJOR of titles, and yes, this is E3, but be excited about the new titles we're getting.

New Zelda game, new Mario game, new Metroid, more info on the new Fire Emblem, more info on FExSMT, more info on the new Star Fox game, and some Animal Crossing Spinoffs.

Underwhelming or not, all the main IPs got love in some way shape or form.

Nobody except Metroid fans care about the franchise anymore.

That's kind of redundant, that's like saying "Nobody but Mario fans care about Mario" or  "Nobody but Zelda fans care about Zelda."

You kind of have to be a fan of a franchise to care about it.

Been watching XBOX live interaction coverage of E3.

Quite happy to see backwards compatibility finally. Jizz in my pants.

Im really looking forward to Halo 5, Gears of War, Dark Souls and even Fable Legends to name a few.

Just read a post or two and realized they announced Metroid Prime Soccer.

Nintendo...what the hell happened? Your earlier directs were way better than this.

Nintendo brought out a bunch of really huge things last year, including, uh, a new franchise.  I can understand finding the conference underwhelming (I certainly did), but was this really such a shocking development?  Slow years happen, especially on the heels of really busy years.

New Star Fox looks cool.  Maybe it's a bit derivative of 64, but that's probably a good thing -- that game came out 20 years ago and Star Fox has really not been treated well as a franchise in that time, so I'm not sure why people are complaining (unless, as usual for the internet, it's to complain).  Mario Maker is neat but I'll probably never play around with it much.  Rest was whatever.

Grats to Sony for a bunch of cool Sony stuff, I guess, I'll never own a PS4 so I don't care that much but I'm sure it made a lot of people happy and they probably "won" E3
