The insanity is already unfolding. Do you have any idea what using the GB set is like? People complain about DoR, but no, THIS, THIS is difficult. I think I'm going to drive myself mad by the time I'm done making this overworld.

So, I'm going for the old and nice classic set. Don't expect much from me, if I win, yay, if not, that's fine. This will get submitted onto the database anyway :P

My entry is going pretty well so far.  Have subscreens set up pretty much the way I want them (minus some possible extra decorations later on instead of the "standard black subscreen background" sort of thing) and the outside and first inside floor of the starting "hub" type area done, and what's there so far is actually playable (albeit a bit uneventful, since there's no enemies and all you can do is find money, buy stuff, and explore a few screens.)  Once I get the second floor finished I'll probably start on some of the actual main game areas, since the third floor of the hub area isn't going to be reachable until later when you have more items.

A custom subscreen, FYS?  Very nice, very fancy.

So far I've made an intro cutscene and half a dozen overworld screens (using Newfirst).  I'll probably be taking this whole thing kind of easy until the weekend; then I get four whole days to work since my school takes a holiday for Mardi Gras.

LotG:LE is on track to be a vaguely NES-styled dungeons-in-any-order thing.  It seems that's the best way to go about it when planning time is at a premium.

Night of the Third Day. Still working on Level 1 because of stupid bugs with one of my scripts.

How I feel right now:

So, while it's still really early in, I'm going to drop out. I got a sudden surge of motivation to work on my main project, and I really don't want to let that go to waste, so to speak. :S

Best of luck to all the participants! The entries will certainly be something interesting to see! :3

Five screens. The overworld is five screens away from being done. Churning out this thing at this rate is killing me. But so close... tomorrow I can make those last five screens, place enemies, make caves, and so on. At least I can take solace in knowing that as hard of a time as I'm having doing this, Moosh is suffering doubly making the first dungeon. I've never heard him cry before, but I think I came very close tonight.

Edit: He's laughing maniacally now telling me about how he's going to script tornados made of eweapons and I'm getting really scared.

I DID IT! I finally finished Level 1 (save for fixing a couple bugs TS pointed out). And I spat out a pretty cool boss in record time too.

But now there's the rather nasty issue where I now have to follow the precedent I set with Level 1, meaning things will only get worse for me from here. This is why I made my impossible schedule. Without the ever present feeling of failure hanging over me, there's no way I'd be able to work this fast.

Got my intro done, and I've started working on Day 1 of the only case for this game.

I chose Pheonix Wright: Baking Tycoon if anybody's wondering :P

Eddy, I have absolutely no idea how you're going to pull this off. But pull it off and you will have my undying admiration.

In other news, one of the big midterms this week I was panicked for got moved back til after spring bring, so I'll have much more time to work on the contest than I previously thought. Yay.

I'll be honest here, I've never played or seen a Pheonix Wright game before... so I'll try to make something out of my knowledge with it. The other 2 choices were pretty dumb imo, so this was the one I was interested in the most lol.

It's a case/law game.

That's all.

Seriously.

No joke.

But yeah, I'm gonna challenge myself, and see what I can do with this title... the result should be interesting.
