Yea. Ran like s*** on the PS3 though.

It did? I have the PS3 version, and it's run fine for me, aside from loading screens being a little on the long side. What kind of problems did you have with it?

Apparently it is coming out on the 3DS. So let me get this straight. The Wii can't run it, but the 3DS can? Okay... I'm guessing this will be like Sonic Colors, and the 3DS version of the game will have the same story and settings as the PS3/360 counterpart, but completely different gameplay. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Screenshots for Sonic Generations 3DS. Apparently, while Classic Sonic gameplay will be like the console version, Modern Sonic gameplay will be more like Rush and Colors DS but with updated graphics. Seems sorta interesting but possibly confusing; they're both pure 2.5D games, so I wouldn't be surprised if I tried to play it and accidentally tried to boost while being Classic Sonic. icon_heh.gif

Now back to the console:

Full Classic and Modern Green Hill Zone gameplay. And they both look epic. The modern one shows so many alternate paths through the level and makes me happy. The classic one? Same. Officially completely stoked, now just worried if they'll be able to apply this to the rest of their stages, lol.

*is still holding out for a Chemical Plant Zone inclusion*

So I was right about the 3DS version. Well, in case one of them sucks, we have a backup, just like Colors. Although so far, the 360/PS3 version looks perfect. A little empty at one or two parts in Modern Sonic's level, but still amazing. This is Sega's chance to make the perfect Sonic game again. Please, get it right.

How does the fact that they are taking inspiration from the DS Sonic Colours game, proof that they are working on a handheld Sonic Generations game?

Exactly Satellite, there is no reason. A lot of people bash things for no reason at all.

And Russ, I thought you said the DS colors was good? I guess people can change there mind for no reason icon_shrug.gif
I'll probably not get the 3DS version because I rather have the awesome looking 360 version.
I mean, I hate most new Sonic games, but this looks totally awesome! From what I saw (Can't say anything until it comes out. This goes for you to Russ icon_razz.gif ) it looks like everything I've ever wanted Sonic to be since Shadow the Hedgehog. Oh boy I can't wait for this game icon_biggrin.gif

No no no, you got me all wrong. I LOVE the DS version of Colors. It's my favorite 2D Sonic game since the Genesis. It's the Wii version I can't stand.

Who says you can't get both? I know I am. Assuming I have enough money.

So why does everybody hate the Sonic games from Shadow up? I loved them all, with the exception of Black Knight, which was just kinda meh (although it had its good parts) and Colors Wii, which I will refrain from ranting about here. Oh, and the Rush games, because they're pretty crappy. Also, have you played Unleashed 360? If you think you're gonna like Generations, then you'd love the Day stages in the one (the HD version, not the Wii version).

Say what? When was I talking about people bashing things? O_o

That being said, I think I'm adding Generations 3DS to my list. Colors DS was fun, and if they can replicate that play style (minus the Wisps that is) with the 3DS version, it could be fun, if not maybe slightly confusing, since both Classic and Modern Sonic are in 2.5D completely. I know it'll take me some time to get used to the homing attack in Generations 360 being the A button again instead of X like in Unleashed. But, I'll get used to it. I hope. icon_heh.gif

Also, apparently there's hints at a demo being released for XBL and PSN around E3. That would be epic and I would play the hell out of it. *crosses fingers*

Oh, sorry. I thought you where talking about the DS version. My bad icon_razz.gif

I like the first 3 sonics, adventure and 2 I guess, and Hero's witch in my opinion is the best 3D sonic game. Everything after that is just terrible. sonic unleashed was half bad. Morning levels are amazing, but warehog is just terrible. Worst idea Sonic team has ever created. Colors Wii wasn't bad. I just thought the levels were to short.

I cannot stand most new Sonic games. I used to love Sonic adventure and adventure 2, but now that it's been years since I've played them, I kinda see how bad they are. Not nearly as bad as what came after. But the level design wasn't very good. Shadow the hedgehog just seems like sonic team's response to Halo. Only with a cute little Furry instead of a bad ass alien hunter.
It's not all that bad, but it was just to dark for a Sonic game. I just love the old ones. Sonic 3 and knuckles is by far the best sonic game ever. Just beautiful. I don't really care for the 3D ones. But what they are doing with Generations just brings back all my hope for sonic. a once great game is making a come back!

Why is he bad? I'll give you this: He seems a bit un-Sonic like. But is he really bad? I honestly like the night levels as much as the day ones. They're different, but not bad.

I don't see how it's a response to Halo, and I don't see how Shadow's cute. But I will say that he's just as badass as Master Chief. Moreso, in fact. Especially if we count him in '06, cuz let's face it, on a scale of 1 to 10 for badassery, he's an 11. But back on subject, I thought Shadow was fun. Yeah, it was dark, but it was only one game that was dark. So it felt a bit out of place, but it was a nice change of pace.

Adventure was just okay, but given that it was Sega's first try with 3D Sonic, I cut them some slack there. But SA2... how can you say it's bad? Even compared to newer stuff, and older Genesis Sonics, it's still my favorite Sonic game. The level design, the story, the characters, the music, everything was just perfect.

How was it a response to Halo? By that point, Halo had been out since 2001, so if they wanted to do a response, they would've done so already. (Never mind the fact that Halo 2 came out in '04. icon_deformed.gif ) Also, Shadow the Hedgehog did have a badass alien hunter in it. icon_blah.gif

[23:51] <~TS> plus Shadow's just as badass as Master Chief ._.

YOU STOLE MY LINE FROM CHAT!! BANNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!

... *walks off*

*calls back* Although I agree that Shadow's not cute and that he is rather quite badass.

Anywho, remember the theme used in the teaser trailer? Found the full version. However, judging by the lyrics, somehow I doubt it's the main theme. Since when do Sonic games (or at least themes focusing on Sonic) involve murder and kissing? O_o

Hey, that's just my opinion you know? Shadow the Hedgehog is about killing aliens with guns. Same basic concept of Halo.
and Shadow isn't cute, it's just weird to see a hedgehog swear and kill aliens/humans in a psychotic rampage.

Ware hog is just to slow for sonic, and a bit of a copy of Twilight Princess. You just have to agree with that. A Character turned into a wolf and has to fight weird shadowy creatures that fall from the sky. Call me crazy, but I remember seeing that in an actually good game.

Now, we should get a bit more on topic icon_razz.gif

Edit: Hell no. Shadows just an emo little cry baby. JK, I'm not one of those people who think shadows emo. But a hedgehog can't even compare.

I'd like to point out that the shadowy creatures come from the ground in Sonic Unleashed. icon_deformed.gif

I'm just glad that Generations has no (known) gimmicks, though. Nothing. We haven't had a non-gimmicky Sonic game since '06, and that one was terrible. Actually wait. It was gimmicky. Shadow had fail vehicles and it had Silver (my way of saying I hate him). So we haven't had a non-gimmicky Sonic game since... Adventure 2. Which was '01. ... so Sonic Generations is the first true Sonic game that uses just straight character platforming and no gimmicks besides the character's own controls in ten years. Well it's about damn time. Let me make a chart:

Sonic Heroes - Team play. Was a good game, but this is still a gimmick.
Shadow the Hedgehog - Guns, vehicles, I guess technically the paths but that was actually kinda fun.
Sonic '06 - Vehicles in Shadow's mode. But this one was fairly close to gimmick-less, just not quite there.
Secret Rings - Wiimote controls, time break and speed break, game moves by itself and is on rails. Though to be fair, none of these (except maybe the controls) broke the game.
Unleashed - Werehog. Nothing more. Okay so it's half the game but it still wasn't that bad. Oh, and two words: Tornado Defense. >_<
Black Knight - The whole damn game. ... okay so the sword but still, it completely changes the dynamic.
Colors - The Wisps. Oh gosh, the Wisps. *shudders*

And now we have Generations. Just gameplay, no teams, no guns, no vehicles, no crappy controls, no Werehog, no Tornado (I hope but if they actually did it right it wouldn't be so bad), no sword, no Wisps. Finally. Thank you, Sega. At long freakin' last, you've given me a game I can get excited for before it came out. ... okay so I was excited for Shadow and '06 but none of the others after that, but I liked Unleashed so yeah. Anyways. ... random smiley: icon_naughty.gif
