No, Four Sword. The Master Sword may be neat and all, but any sword that makes three copies of you, each with an identical sword, will probably win. So what if the Master Sword is more powerful? Four people armed with sticks could probably beat one guy with the Master Sword, just because of their greater numbers.

Okay, I can see where your coming from, but your stick argument doesn't work. Provided they knew how to handle a sword, one could defeat all four stick-wielders with the Master Sword without collecting any damage at all...

Why am I trying to make this sound like a real-life situation...?

*ehem* I still think the Master Sword is more powerful. Besides, in Minish Cap, the Four Sword only divided your spirit so you could open doors and junk. So pitting one with the Master Sword and one with the Four Sword against each other, the only thing the Master Sword wielder would have to worry about was which one was the real one. Which, by the way, wouldn't be much of a problem considering the other three would be translucent.

And here I thought you were rooting for the Four Sword.... what happened?

The Four Sword can seal evil and repels it.
Question: Would you rather just seal an evil or destroy it? Yeah, that's what I thought. So the Master Sword wins. icon_blah.gif

Ganon never really dies though, he keeps coming back. He always ends up getting sealed away by the sages and Zelda or some other means. The Four Sword (being as powerful as it is) doesn't require any third parties to seal a powerful evil entity. It just does it. So I'd rather seal it away because Ganon can be resurrected, as seen in the Oracle series.

...I was? I think you may have mixed up Russ and myself. I said the Master Sword trumps all, and Russ challenged that with the Four Sword.

Dude, a sword is a sword. It's not like the Four Sword isn't capable of a kill strike. And most of the time, the Master Sword only seals away the evil (note pretty much every zelda game except LoZ and the Oracle Series)

@ Rem, I like how people keep saying that the Master Sword is the best when the Golden Sword has all the capabilities of the Master Sword and with a 4x power multiplier on top of that. And then the Fierce Deity sword, which can kill a boss in a matter of a few seconds, even more powerful than the Golden sword if not for the fact that it's useless outside of boss battles.

I never said the Golden Sword wasn't more powerful than the Master Sword. icon_shrug.gif I said the Fierce Deity Sword was the most powerful, and the Master Sword the most significant. Some how that turned into a, "The Four Sword is better" argument.

In terms of power, the Great Fairy Sword and both the Deity sword and its projectiles are the same strength.

So then it comes down to Great Fairy Sword and the Golden Sword.
I still like the Four Sword the most. icon_razz.gif

Phantom Sword. It does 2 things that none of the other swords can do:

1.) Kill Phantoms
2.) Stop Time

And there we go.

But doesn't it need a Phantom Sphere for that, which only Ciela can give you? icon_blah.gif

EDIT: Besides, how do you know the Master Sword or one of the others couldn't do that if they got the chance. icon_heh.gif

Yeah but for the Fierce Diety Mask, which hou need for the Fierce Diety Sword IIRC you had to do all of the side quests, go and find all of the masks and then know to talk to the one kid in te dungeon before Majora before you could even go FDL. So yeah ot was cheap but you had to work your ass off for it, so..... Meh? I think it kind of balances it all out.

I'd have to say the Golden Sword. Link to the Past was a real ***** of a game and you had your work cut out for you beating the latter chunk of the game without upgrading the sword.

Also, LttP's 3rd sword is simply a refined Master Sword. The Golden Sword actually REPLACES the Master Sword, which is said to be the only thing able to defeat Ganon, so this sword means business. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that this is the only game where the highest-level sword is strong enough to take out high-ranking foot soldiers (Zelda's Darknuts still took 2 hits with the 3rd sword, Zelda 2's Iron Knuckles still kicked your ass at level 8, and Ocarina's Iron Knuckles still took several whacks with the Biggoron Sword.)

Well, you don't HAVE TO have the Tempered/Golden Swords. But if you use the blue Master Sword on Ganon, you can only damage him with Spin Attacks. I've done it before and you really need patience, especially doing a minimalist run. In the JPN version, the Tempered Sword can hurt Ganon with regular slashes, but the US version makes you use the Spin Attack to damage him. Also, small bit of trivia, but in A Link to the Past, you DON'T need the Silver Arrows to defeat Ganon. You can simply hit him with a Spin Attack just before he teleports away. Don't believe me? Look it up.

Also in Zelda II, you can OHKO Orange Ironknuckles with your sword at level 7 and Reds go down in one hit with the level 8 sword. As for the Blue Ironknuckles, a maxed sword only takes 3 hits to kill (plus they're easy if you back off after each hit and block their swords appropriately) with a level 7 sword taking 4 hits. Just for the record, Oranges take 8 hits, Reds take 12 hits and Blues take 28 hits from a level 1 Sword. Also, more nerdiness, but the level 8 sword does 12x the damage of the level 1 sword. So in theory, that's the strongest sword since it's 3x stronger than the Magical, Great Fairy and Tempered Swords. Not to mention the Zelda II level 8 sword is 1.5x as powerful as the Master Sword in a vanilla Zelda Classic quest if you want an idea how powerful it is.

Back on topic though, I would go with Fierce Deity Link's Helix Sword. Let's just say Majora has no chance at all if you use it and it turns Gyorg from the boss that makes me rip my hair out and fire a barrage of cluster F bombs to a boss I could probably beat using only one hand.

EDIT: Sorry I didn't realize this thread was grave dug. Please forgive me.

In terms of power, the Golden Sword is the most powerful. It does the greatest amount of damage relative the the enemies, killing most enemies in one or two hits. It is also very easy to get once you have the Tempered Sword, and access to the Super Bomb.

Strongest two-handed sword is probably a toss up between the Great Fairy sword and the Biggoron sword (which I think have the same amount of power). The Fierce Deity sword is even stronger, and can shoot beams, but it can only be used in boss battles, which is really lame, IMO. After all the work of collecting the mask, you can only use it to make a small portion of the game way easy. However, in terms of raw power, it is technically the strongest two handed sword, and is arguably stronger than AlttP's Golden Sword.

Story-wise the Master Sword is the most powerful. It's perfectly capable of killing Ganon seen in WW and TP, but in OoT they merely sealed him as punishment.

Damage-wise, I'd argue either the Golden Sword, Fierce Deity Blade or the Great Fairy Sword.
