Good to hear. icon_razz.gif I think Red Steel 1 was overrated because it was the first to do it (badly).

It looked just as good, if not even better than the TP Wii controls.

It SHOULD be much much better than the TP Wii controls.

And for anyone of you who wants to bash the TP Wii controls, think it over once more... they weren't bad. You would never die because of poor control... they were spot-on in my opinion, even though I felt more comfortable using the GC controller... that's just a matter of getting used to it though.

I did not like the Wii controls because the game was not designed for them. It didn't need full 1:1 sword motion, but I did not like that it couldn't tell the difference between a horizontal slash, a vertical slash, and a stab.

Incidentally, I wonder whether Skyward Sword will have the Jump Attack, and how it will be activated.

...You're probably the same guys who slam WW's graphics, so this next statement probably won't matter, but WW's graphics were fairly similar to this, and that was a hell of a great game...

That's not true. I liked WW's graphics. I liked the style, and I liked that they were up to date. What I don't like is how the Wii isn't capable of better graphics than what we've been shown.

But that's old news. Years old, in fact.

Listen, it's not that important, the Wii has been out for years now, and we know it isn't capable of runnign Crysis. Boo hoo. What's important here is how developers use what they've got, and Skyward Sword proves yet again that Nintendo can do GREAT things on their console, even if it's not a Playstation 360.

I just don't like the bland terrain, bushes, trees and links tunic. They need to go over it all with a shader D: and add depth to the bland display. I am a fan of WW's style and I know this game follows in it's footsteps, it just seems a more immature design so maybe a lot of the graphics seen in the specially developed demo are just place holders?

Character/enemy models look fantastic.

The new Zelda might as well have been released on Gamecube. The Wii is basically just a Gamecube with a motion controller, which is vastly inferior to a standard controller for a game like Zelda.

Well we still don't know everything about the new Zelda game yet, and there may be new features that we don't know about. All the same, Twilight Princess was arguably just a Gamecube game, and the Wii version was great. I have no doubt that this Zelda will be a good game.

On another note, I also liked Wind Waker's graphics, and I am glad that Nintendo is using them again.

I do kinda agree with this, but, give it time. OoT, WW, and TP all looked rougher in the beginning than their final releases; SS should be no exception.

Actually, this I agree with. No matter how good or bad TP's controls were, no matter how good or bad SS's controls will be, I'm a strong proponent of "WHAT'S WRONG WITH BUTTONS?!" I love a good classic controller game; it's what I grew up with, and it has a special place in my heart. That's why, in my opinion, the Xbox 360 is the pinnacle of technology thus far with its controller. Unfortunately, Wii does want to take full advantage of its precious hardware so badly. *sigh* icon_frown.gif

I agree, the overuse of motion control in Twilight Princess was bearable only because I knew that it was one of the first Wii games and the developers were probably eager to break in the new technology. Still ALL THE SWINGING. It would be nice to have a sword button, Nintendo.

More videos. Yay.

Part 1.
Part 2.
Part 3 (Boss Fight)

The main thing to note in this is that he uses the bow. It didn't spaz out this time. The only problem that he seems to have is his poor aim. icon_wink.gif

Also, I've noticed a few things. First, notice that whenever an enemy dies, the purple puff of smoke forms into the image of a skull. Cool touch, Nintendo. Second, there is no ammo counter for the bow. Hopefully that's just for the purposes of the demo. Finally, did anyone notice the green stamina meter? It looks like it goes down whenever Link runs, rolls, climbs walls, or uses a spin attack. Should add some depth to how you use Link's abilities.

Am I the only one who finds it weird that the scorpion boss never uses his stinger. icon_razz.gif Anyways, it looks great. Hopefully they'll send a demo out to Gamestop or something, though I doubt it.

Probably a throwback to Z1 deaths. icon_wink.gif

Aw, I noticed something: When Link walked through a door, he didn't open it manually like in TP. I liked that about TP. icon_frown.gif

Woah. In the second video, Link seemed to run up a wall right before he entered a door, and a few other times. New parkour moves? icon_eek.gif

The boss looks kinda... simplistic. I dunno. Maybe it'll be better in the final version. Anyways... I'm a little skeptical about the bow. Not about how well it'll be pulled off, but just because I was a quick draw bow shooter in WW and TP, and somewhat in OoT. I'm afraid I won't be able to pull off any of those fancy moves anymore. icon_frown.gif

Look at dem rupees. icon_deformed.gif

It's looking pretty decent so far. It looks like everybody else has an easy time with the controls so they're probably not as difficult as they looked in the demonstration. That was painful to watch.

Well, everyone who has played the demo at E3 has reported that the controls are fantastic. Here is one headline: Zelda SkyWard Sword: Precise, Fluid, Intuitive. But that's not all! The sensor function has been turned off for the demos at E3 because the lights would interfere with it...the game is only using motion plus...the actual game uses both the sensor and motion plus in a combined way. So it will be even better than is being reported now...and the controls are already reported to be excellent.

Well.

A.) I thought it looked pretty cool, actually
B.) Do we know it is a full scale boss?? It looks like it was being fraught in a field, not a dungeon. It seemed like more of a mini-boss
C.) Presumably, this demo is from an area early on in the game...so expect bigger and badder later on

Now that Sir Evan mentioned the stamina thing, it sort of reminds me of the health/water-air thinger from Mario 64.

EDIT: Fixed the name screw up.
