There's no such thing as a purple Ganon rare NES cartridge so how could he even get it appraised let alone know that Gannon is actually purple if he never saw it?!? The pic is also fake by the same logic. What's that expression?: If you can't spot the fish, then you probably are one.
There is actually a legit rare nes game though I'm sure the game sucks for playing and is better for selling =P : http://www.reghardwa...uction_outcome/
That went for 43,000. O.o

After reading the Ebay page for myself, I'm inclined to agree this is a textbook case of fleecing.

I still wouldn't pay 10,000 dollars for a game, with ONE FREAKING DIFFERENT FEATURE ! Ganon is purple, so what ? It's not like the game is completely different. I have the Musashi Blade Fencer/Final Fantasy 9 Collector Edition and the higher price I could get is 60 dollars.
People collect weird/different things and people with lots of money go for the rarer items. For example! I have lots of beanie babies from like ten years ago that are still in great condition. I'm sure if I put them on ebay, I could get away with selling them for a couple hundred bucks a pop.
...In fact, why don't I get on that?? o_O

Some have figured it out, but you're hitting the nail on the head. It's because of that game you just listed that we're seeing stuff like this happen.
My friends, the game's a farce. There is no Purple Ganon. When the guy listed the auction demanding his game must reach $1500 before he'd even ship it (A violation of ebay laws) we started reporting him. Then, we started asking him questions, making up "rare" differences (like the word Caution underlined). We believed him a scammer (trying to get maybe one bid for 2-300 then selling it that low), and as you can see, ebay never did anything about it.
You can read the whole thing Here, but mind you, there are some NSFW segments.

LOL. Classic. I wonder if he thinks he's still going to get ten thousand dollars for it?
Someone should make a Purple Ganon NES ROM hack!

Would a hack involve replacing the ROM in the cartridge with a some kind of writable memory chip?

You know, I mentioned it as an actual cartridge (they make repoductions of certain games like the 1990 Nintendo World Championship cartridge), and it may not be that hard to do, a simple switch of ganon's palette/sprite, as long as it doesn't affect any of the other enemys/maps around him.

Yeah...I just thought about the palette thing. Wouldn't changing Ganon's colors make other things change too ? I mean, it's not like he use his own colors. Like how Link make some things change color when he change. The NES is 8-bit, which means 8 colors.

yep 8bit is 256 colours, you can see it in Windows 95 and I believe 98 and ME
It lists them as "256 colours (8 bit)", "High Colour (16 bit)" and "True Colour (32 bit)".

That game would only be worth $10,000 if purple Ganon shot orgasms.

Wowser!! I have the gold cartridge Zelda. I should play through it again and see what color Gannon is. I'd looove to have my college debt paid for!
