It'd be great if you added some shortcuts that don't involve the whistle.

Lithium - There are a few shortcuts actually: two warp rings and a couple that involve swimming off the edge of the screen. But I know what you mean - reaching the level 5 area can be a pretty big pain if you have to keep restarting. I'll keep that in mind for a future update.

But besides that Level 8 is pretty cool.
Also I really do recommend using ZC Version 1.92 Beta 184 for this Quest. it doesn't crash when you open up your Map.
EDIT: WARNING SPOILERS BELOW!!!!
Am I stuck on this screen?

So uh, would you mind writing a review of some kind? I'm mainly asking about two things - the overall playability level (I know some parts were quite frustrating, and you can include those in the overall review of things, but I'd like to hear about the good parts too, and if you think they make up for the bad parts or not), and the storyline. I know that there's not much story to start with, but I liked the various twists thrown in here and there. And since that's spoiler material, it would be best sent as a PM.

Anyway, if you want to post a spoiler-free review here, that would be fine, but it doesn't really matter to me either way.

I'm not exactly sure how I'll explain this, but here's my best attempt. Floor 2 is set up as a diamond shape (you have the map, right?) and is split into 4 segments of 6 screens each - the last screen of each meeting up in the center in a big square thing with all the barriers. Each segment ends with a button you can push to get rid of one of the barriers, and after you get rid of all of them, you have to go through the northern (northeast actually, now that I check) part of it again to reach the medallion.
Here's the locations of the ladders that lead to the four sections:
1) Near the entrance by the waffles and stuff - hard to miss
2) Near all the pits and stuff - you have to fall in some, go through the basement block maze, and push a button or two to get there
3) At the southeast corner of the building, where it's a bunch of basically identical screens that you have to figure out the correct path to get through
4) The *other* one, which is sort of to the left of the junction area, past some hammer stump things. You have to go in the basement a couple times to get there.
If I had to guess, I'd say you're probably missing #2. That's the one that the bugtesters and other early players frequently missed.
You have to hit all those buttons. Then you'll be able to get to the Water Medallion from the first one's location.
Also sorry Jish, it may be a little while before I PM you the review. It's almost finished. But I want to play through the Quest again and get all the Heart Peices before I add the last couple of parts.

Also, you never answered if you did any of the optional quests in the game. (Bonus level, finding the cheat code, easter egg, etc)

SPOILERS FOR PART OF LEVEL 9 BELOW HERE!!!!!!!!111SHIFT1! (Doing this to be safe)
Was it on the path with enemies near the end? The split path near the end, left going to (the extremely awesome by the way.) pit room, and south going to a room with an Aquamentus and Manhandla 2. Cause I died in the room after that. The one with the Mirrorrobes. (Mainly cause I suck at fighting them.) When I died there I appeared in the upper left corner of the split paths room. I saved (This happened once before earlier in the Level. I don't remember where though. Saving got me out of it.) And I was still there. So I had to do the whole Level 9 over again. That wasn't too fun. If you understood what I said you may want to fix that.
Huh. I just noticed that I seem to like the word 'though'.

Anyway, you were probably better off dying against the mirror robes anyway, because you would have just deadended on the screen after that. There's a Gohma that requires the golden arrows to kill, and you only have the silver in your version. Plus you need the physical easter egg item (it's Bait), which you find hidden in the second file. The poem thing hints towards it, actually, but if you're that far then you already missed it.
Oh, and you input the bonus level code into the url for the Level 9 download page - I guess you must have just written it down wrong, like you said. Keep in mind that it alternates number, letter, number, letter, etc. And the two codes together form a coherent statement if you put them together and replace the numbers with their 1337-speak letter equivalents.
