I've been through that wall but I can't find anything to do in the following rooms.

hmm, beat level 2 with ease. Very clever on the puzzle solution. Asking the player to remember the colors of places they've been as directions. Anyhoo, wandering lost for level 3.
Remember that screen with the large tree and the large eye symbol (which is under the tall grass)? Bomb that tree and a stair case will appear.

EDIT: That was crazy hidden. Now I'm wandering lost in level 3, found 3 keys, used on three doors. Not sure what to do now.

Just to the right of the entrance. You need the wand to reach it, though.
Three keys and three doors? That gets you to the top-left of the map with the water down, right?
The crystals are reflected magic switches. The first one comes before the wand, so you need to use another source of magic.

I saw four large statues just like them:

How do I get through that maze?
Plus, where is the Boss Key and the Mirror Shield?

If we are to assume that whatever statue is above the number, is the direction you should go. Not there yet, still wandering level 3.

I'm assuming, left, up, up, right.

No, that's not the case. This maze uses all 4 Cardinal Directions, the two warps sends you back to the room leading to this maze.

Hm... Well, the way I think of it is this: The numbers and colors form a coordinate system, with the colors as one axis. The statues in the basement give you four points in order, and the corner rooms show how to interpret them.
I'm having trouble thinking of a bigger hint that doesn't completely give it away. Let's see how this does....
Highlight to read: The numbers refer to the order of the statues. The small statues' positions around the numbers are meant to correspond to the four possible directions you can go.
And I'll pretty much give it away with this one: The statues around the number one should be interpreted thus: if the first statue is red, go up; if it's yellow, go left; green, right; blue, down.
The mirrorrobes are guarding the boss key.
