Oh yes, I meant to answer your question the other day when I read it.
Anyway, nothing is based on points. Your rank is decided by three things. How many wins you have, what is the total of votes you have received for all of your wins, and when you reached that spot first.
Here is the ranks with thier stats at this point. It might help you understand it better.
(rank)(name)(wins)(votes)
01 PrinceMSC--------7--161

Whoah, that was close. I wasn't even here when the tie was broken! And it's technically back to a tie again. I guess Vargen deserves congratulations too for making it a close one. I'm sorry I didn't enjoy it being close; it's only because I was in a tie last time I contended, too. ^_^;
Anyway, thanks! I'm glad I finally pulled out another good shot.

Congrats, Raiden. That was a very close call. right now it is got back to being tied up again. Too bad that the voting ended though. Congrats to Vargen too, because it seems that he is a winner too.

... And now Vargen has two more votes than Radien.... <VARIOUS CENSORED WORDS> ... Oh my goodness. So despite the fact that Vargen has more votes, (Now.) should Radien still be the winner, displayed? If it's only a matter of time, a cutoff date really shouldn't do all that much if it's the votes which ultimately determine whos screenshot is "The Best."

If the moderators could keep everyone from voting after the cutoff date some how, they probably would. What's the point of the cutoff if you keep going back and changing the winner?
In other words, Radien should still remain the winner.

Well, you can always lock the thread, but that would also discourage any further comments on the screenshots. (Then again, they could always just PM the individual.)
.. OMG. Sheesh, I'm too sensitive.

This happens a lot. But you have to have a cutoff date. It's the only fair way. If there is any issue, then yes, the voting should be closed at the end of each weekly contest. If there's still an issue, then Prince could be even more specific about when the polls close. For instance, say, "In the evening, 5 days from the day it started," hypothetically speaking.

I agree, the SOTW is a weekly thing. PrinceMSC said in the beginning that it starts on Sunday ends on Saturday. If people vote after Saturday then too bad. That is just like saying Kerry wins and becomes president and then after that then people start voting for Bush. It is too late! So, I think the way it is being handled right now, is great. You don't have to lock the polls because if the winner was Person 1, then Person 1 is the winner.

Perhaps in cases like this the SOTW winner could be decided by the electoral college.
