The top corner is squared, when it should be diagonal with the rest of the wall ![]()

^I like the nub.

That looks really cool! Even with the flowers and details though, it still looks a bit empty... maybe more bushes and tall grass? Just a suggestion, though this still looks really cool.

Thank you! And I thought the same thing. But then again, if I add more tall grass, it could look too crowded as well.
Honestly, I think it's fine. Fields are generally fairly empty, after all, and I think Jared did a good job of making it feel open without throwing objects everywhere. I really like the outcrop in the middle of the screen as well. Is this from an actual quest, or are you just playing around with the tileset?
Thank you, Russ. Your approval means a lot to me. I like the outcrop too. I'm not sure about a quest yet. I have no motivation, nor a full story that I'm happy with. It's a drag. ![]()

That's true. Either way, it still looks pretty great.
Until Russ asked that question, I actually thought you were making this screen for your quest lol.

That lack of motivation is something I know far too well. So lemme give you a suggestion that worked for me. Try making a really small quest. It doesn't have to have a big story, and it can be as small as one or two dungeons and a tiny overworld, so long as it comes together to feel complete. You'll get a lot of feedback on it, both good and bad, and that will serve to motivate you to make something bigger. When I was sick of working on Darkness Within; I made Somewhere in Between as a fun little side project I enjoyed working on, one that never got big enough for me to start getting sick of it. And the feedback I got I that carried me through the rest of TDW's development. Trust me, it feels great to actually have a finished quest out there. You oughta try giving it a shot.
I think I'll have to give that a try myself, because I've been going though that with my project. I haven't really worked on Adam's Quest II much since the expo; mostly just rebalancing things and addressing the most common issues people had with my quest (namely the awful overworlds). Sure I had a few new areas added, made new sprites and made several other quality of life changes. As for actually moving on, I've been at a crawl. Any time that I try to work on it, I make 1-2 screens then quit.
With your mini-quest suggestion, how large should the quest be? Could I have some ballpark figures so I could try to follow your suggestion and see if it works out for me?

Death Mountain from Ocarina of Time?

Yeah, it's a joke screen I made for IRC chat earlier today, thought I'd show it here just for the heck of it.
