Hmmm.
Nintendo's inspiration for Bokoblins in 2016. lol
Spoiler
Considering how much Japan loves Stitch, I wouldn't be surprised.

This game feels like if Metroid Prime and Zelda had a baby. And I love it.
Also, the items/weapons systems seems to be a lot like Hyrule Warriors and Skyrim, the latter mostly, where pretty much everything is an item you can pick up and collect. Also, for actual dungeon items, it seems so far we have the Bomb Rune, which contains both Spherical Bombs (for BOMB BOWLING) and Rectangular Bombs (they don't roll), Magnesis Rune (basically 3D Magnet Glove on steroids), Stasis Rune (freeze time for certain objects), and Cryosis Rune (Water Rod, but ice instead of water).
Also, Wolf Link Amiibo summons a Wolf Link familiar that fights by your side. Really sweet.
Old Men in caves return, only, instead of caves they're in trials now, and they give Spirit Orbs, which I assume are for trading.
Link wakes up in this shrine called the "Resurrection Shrine". The meaning of thisis not yet known.
Finally, Koroks from Wind Waker return and are a common NPC. Yes.

So yeah, I'm another of those unsure on it. Some of it is neat, just it doesn't feel very Zelda-like and it is more from what I hear the Xenoblade games are like.
I'm also really confused where this would be in the Timeline as we have SS, WW and Z1/OoT elements all together. Mention of Hylia would make you think it is around SS since she never is mentioned in any game beyond SS. But then the mention of Ganon would make you think post OoT at a minimum and then we have the Koroks which iirc has to be around the Flood in WW since they were Kokiri in OoT.

Well, it's safe to say that the timeline is a bit of a mess and is slowly becoming an irrelevant and uninteresting concept anyways.

After seeing the trailer and the first 10-15 minutes of gameplay I knew people were going to point to other franchises and say it looks derivative.
I have no patience for the hate-it-both-ways people who dogged on 3D Zelda for not being open world and now dog on BotW for being derivative because there were open world games before it.
The Zelda series had an open world in some of the earliest 2D titles, and we're finally returning to that. And while it may seem late, I'm glad we didn't have a bunch of awkward games in the series that were experiments in trying to figure out how an open world game should work.
Also, did it cross no one's mind that other 3D open world games borrow from the earliest Zelda titles?
End of rant, I'm just gonna ignore complainers. If I come across issues while I'm playing the game, then I'll listen, not before.
I didn't watch the whole E3 demo, but I still feel like I saw a lot, and want to leave the rest a surprise. I'm glad NPCs aren't voice acted. I find it strange that they're acting like technology is new in this, especially after Skyward Sword (and to be honest other games hinted at the possibility).
Breath of the Wild looks fabulous to me, and I'm stoked to play it. Feels like a gorgeous WW/TP/SS blend- all games I loved, with some old-school and open world twists. I like the equipment/garb/weapon customizability, which reminds me of ALttP (along with apple collecting), I like the references to known landmarks, I'm curious about Ganon, the overworld is beautiful, and I think the nod to Z1's old man is really cool. Also, I hope that was a goron in the trailer.

Someone's triggered XD. I don't think anyone hates it really, people are just not getting the Zelda vibe, which is fair. I personally think it'll be a good game just like Skyrim and Tomb Raider 2014. You know, TR 2014 didn't feel like any of the previous Tomb Raiders either, since it also completely changed the genre from adventure/puzzle to island survival. It was still well received for the most part.

Cukeman, the thing about the complaints I believe you gotta realize is that A Link Between World's manage to capture what they were after with the open world non-linear aspect, and everybody was fine because it still felt very Zelda. But this doesn't do it well enough to warrant the same praise. But I am only judging this by limited information. ![]()
This feels like Witcher 3 and Skyrim for 9 year olds which is not a problem in itself. But it's just not for me. lol

I agree with this, except the triggered part. I don't think he's triggered. ![]()

This. This is my view. ![]()
Also, I fail to see how it's un-Zelda-like. Puzzles seem as Zelda as ever.

Oops, I saw the video larger and now I see that it's some type of skeleton, XD

Ah, well I've played all the US Zelda titles except for WiiU and 3DS so there's that.

Yeah, that'd look more like this: https://www.youtube....h?v=ZIpkdusnIkE
Lol.
Well, I'm sure both sides of the coin here will be in for big surprises when the finished product comes out. Fingers crossed for barehanded combat though. Something about having the option to go barehanded in games just makes it feel more invigorating. Martial Arts Link.

So after giving this another look, I am finding the shrines to be getting more interesting. I must admit that I found the Minecraft type shrine very distasteful and acted kind of quick to discredit it. The puzzle still seem more forced, almost like they were a dominant feature, but again, that's what I believe the shrines are all about.
I wish I could see an actual dungeon to get a full honest opinion on this game.

So in the demo, it said that (roughly) Link was asleep for 100 years, and "Calamity Ganon" was held captive at Hyrule Castle, after he destroyed the world. Soon, he will be powerful enough to completely destroy the land, and Lin has to stop him.
We are literally going to be playing in a post-apocalyptic Hyrule. Am I dreaming? ![]()
