I just started watching "A Certain Scientific Railgun" starring the lovely Mikito Misaka. First off, this spinoff is so hilarious! I feel like I'm going to lose my laugh box. This is one of those comedy heavy shows? Because I don't know if there is a real plot to this spinoff series.

On a side note, I'm going to Anime Iowa this week. It's going to be another fun convention! :)

Iowa has an anime convention? Didn't know that. I'm heading there to visit family, but unfortunately, I'm not going until August. Kind of sucks, I've always wanted to go to a convention in-person.

Anyways, I've just about wrapped up Dragon Ball. I'm on the last tournament arc, where Goku's an adult. Afterwards, I suppose I'll go for the original version of Z. I figure that if I'm watching the episodes in bulk rather than waiting a week between each, the filler/padding won't seem as bad.

I am curious, since I'm watching through a streaming site, do they usually go with the uncensored version or will I have to sit through the dumbed-down for American TV version? (example: HFIL instead of HELL.)

If you have a chance to go to a convention, I highly recommend it. My friend got me into it and I've had a really fun time! I've met a lot of my favorite voice actors such as Stephanie Sheh, Cristina Vee, Cherami Leigh, Eric Stuart, D.C. Douglas, Greg Ayres, and Spike Spencer. I also met a lot of new people who I'm surprised share the same interests as me. I used to call myself a weirdo for liking certain things. :P But yeah, cons are really fun and exciting to attend. Perhaps one day, I may run into some PZC guys at the next cons I go to. :)

It all depends on the site you use... I've found quite a few that has the uncut versions, though that's more fan-run sites rather than official channel carriers.

I highly recommend World Trigger, it's like a modernized post-apocalyptic anime.

I recommend all the anime on @Astromeow's waiting list, I never seen those other ones.

A good old one is Macross, the first one. Do not watch the Harmony Gold dub, watch the other one it's unedited and has all the original music and the singer in the Japanse one is in the unedited version as well.

I'm watching Soul Eater NOT! So far, it's a typical high school drama spinoff. Hardly any action compared to its counterpart. In exchange, it's pretty funny so far.

I'm about to watch the second season of A Certain Magical Index. I met Toma's English voice actor Micah Solusod at AnimeIowa 2015 over the weekend.

I'm also getting Space Dandy. Everyone at the convention was talking about it!

And as a bonus...

Micah Solusod's signature lightning round at his panel.

You are an anime warrior there Dawnlight! Good stuff, I enjoyed watching your videos thus far.

I like your prints, the Attack on Titan one is spiffy.

I've never heard of Space Dandy. Let us know if the hype is real, please.

-

I highly recommend purchasing Crunchyroll or checking it our if any of you haven't. One month in and Ive began dangerously achieving near Anime Overdose levels.

Again, at this moment I am for sure watching

. World Trigger

. Heroman

..

Gate: The Self-Defense Forces Fight Like This in That Place

Not being that guy but... Hot damn. 4 episodes into broadcast thus far, and I am very interested and fascinated.

Plot as by Wiki

When a portal from another world appears in Ginza, Tokyo, a legion of soldiers and monsters emerge to attack the city. Thanks to their far more advanced weaponry and tactics, the JSDF easily repels the enemy, passes through the gate and establish a forward base of operations to force the Roman-styled empire of the other world to open peace negotations. Yōji Itami is one of the Japanese officials sent to investigate the other world, where magic, dragons and elves are real, using his knowledge of fantasy stories to make his way in this new environment.

I just finished Soul Eater NOT! Overall, it's a pretty solid spinoff to Soul Eater and a good prelude to the series. You learn about some of the characters and how they are at where they are in Soul Eater. I say the story between Tsugumi, Anya, and Meme is as big as one arc in the main Soul Eater series.

Next on my Anime Backlog:

* Noragami

* A Certain Scientific Railgun

* A Certain Magical Index II

I'm adding two new shows to my collection:

* Red Data Girl

* Squid Girl - Season 1

What should I expect from these two shows? And before you tell me, I know I have to watch Squid Girl - Season 2 subbed for that never got a dubbed release.

Here's what you can expect from Squid Girl: A fairly entertaining and cute comedy where the only characters that shine are Ika herself and a small couple of background characters. Also there's one side character you'll probably hate if you're like me, she's a really creepy annoying stalker basically. Also a surprisingly small amount of fanservice. It's worth a watch, solid 7/10 I'd say.

Which means that yes, I've seen it. Watched it over the summer. Haven't actually watched a ton of anime surprisingly. I rewatched Hanamaru Kindergarten again because my friend did, and honestly the manga's better; it has better pace, whereas the anime seems to last far too long for only being 12 episodes. Still cute.

As of now, I'm watching Hellsing, cuz I need some counter to all the diabetes. Hellsing Ultimate after that.

Squid Girl is very Squid-tacular. *shot* In all seriousness, it's a pretty solid show. Too many squid puns though! lol

I'm finishing up A Certain Scientific Railgun. This series definitely packs in more comedy then Index. Misaka's love for cute and adorable things! lol

Oh that's right, you watched the dub. I watched it in original Japanese, but tried the dub later. I couldn't stomach the puns. Too forced, lol. Plus, then you lose her "de geso" verbal tic in the dub, literally ruins the show!!! :tard:
