I'm just having trouble on what to put on the surrounding screens. It's in my head, but I just can't get the little idea out

Among other things it features a Title Screen - which shows up every time you start the quest, an instructions screen that only show up the first time you play (unless you exit without saving) and proper saving and loading with a custom Continue screen.

This is what I got done today. A functioning spear weapon.
Now, what's the difference between this and the sword? They both do the same thing, right? (That is, a short range weapon) Yeah, but the spear's got more range than the sword. (What you see in the picture isn't quite its full range) It's good for enemies that you want to keep away from you, or enemies that are just too far to hit with your sword. Sure, you can use arrows (the bow and arrow will be in my quest, btw), but that's basically why I made this thing; so you wouldn't have to waste ammo on an enemy that's close enough. But the extra range comes at a slight cost of damage. The spear will deal a little less than other weapons you'll get in the game. (Though it's certainly not the weakest.) That and it's obviously a stab weapon as opposed to the sword's slash.
Next up, I'm thinking of doing an axe weapon that would be unblockable to most all enemies, but be really slow. Not sure yet though. I want there to be a versatile array of weapons at the player's disposal that have their fair share of uses.
All this done while listening to EPIC SCI-FI ACTION! (Because of this video, when I get to wherever this music is used, I'll only be able to imagine super epic sci-fi stuff. D: )

Today I fixed up the axe weapon I spoke of. It's not exactly done yet, but it is working and can hit stuff. It's mostly making it look good. (Like having the character actually swinging it.) It's one of the more powerful weapon types I plan to have and is also capable of busting up defences. There may even be a few that break them so other weapons can have a shot, but I'm not sure yet.
It's a weapon that may take some getting used to though, as there's a brief window in which you're holding the axe to the side, leaving you open for being hit. It's mostly to balance the fact that it's a powerhouse. Not to mention that the thing is probably heavy and Alice needs a chance to ready herself or something.
I also started on an alternate bow and arrow. It's just about the same, but you can hold the button you have it assigned on to charge the shot. The longer you have it charged, the faster it'll shoot and the more damage it'll do. I may even try to see if, when at full power, the arrow will pierce through enemies. My plan is to get it to slow Alice down while charging, but that's currently a WIP. Else I'm pretty much happy with it right now.
I don't know why, but I'm having a blast scripting all kinds of things right now.
But that'll be for another day. Right now, I need to focus on getting my bow charging to slow Alice down.

Your ideas with the Axe sound nice. I'd make it a bit above-average in damage as well, since slower weapons are often way risky (or maybe it just doesn't work for me 'cause of the way I play
One idea? Late-game, optional, "top-tier" weapons. I had the mental image of a Halberd with the Spear's length, only it Slashes too, and at fantastic attack power. Anyway take it or leave it~
