Clearly better than most recent classic screens for sure. Looks great. Love the ramps, it goes to show classic can be original if the right people use it. ;)

Also I feel like you not ever returning is a grave concern.

Ooh, I really like it. Not only did you get GB perspective classic mountains that look great, you got inclines that don't look like garbage. Looks really good, and I like it.

This looks really good! I also love those MC water tiles, they look so awesome.

Interesting use of classic here, especially how the mountains are arranged. I really like this :D

What I said is promised. I'll start to make progress on both my quest and set. And also, welcome the new Link made by Dragon de Platino!  :omg:

Thoughts? Suggestions? Mind blown?

Looks great! A tiny palette suggestion perhaps is in order? Can you perhaps darken the darkest shade of brown present in the palette? It's just that it blends in and when it is next to black, it lacks "flow", which is obviously crucial for palettes. Otherwise, you are good to go!

I very much agree with Shane's suggestion about brown-to-black blending and I love the tilework except for the hero sprite which is too cartoony and bright for the environment.  maybe it'll match further scenes better, but... I don't know... maybe I should just leave it at "I don't like it."  the path and trees scream out for my usual comment of "needs more variation."  in a thing like either where many would have more haphazard forms in a realistic set, there should be less obviously repetitive objects.  the ground tiles with the

_>_

^-v

_<_

look going on are fine to repeat more, because they are the standard.  it's the ones with the circular flair in the top right that need to chill out, as it kills the realism to see that same coincidental variation repeated.  if that variation happened in the top left and/or lower parts, too, cool, but it is distractingly weirdly the same as the one around it.  also, the trees have that little

--v^--

action in the ring in their tops... all of the trees of that type have that?  uh... same issue.

unless it is using a minimalist set (like my stick figure one, for example), y'all can assume my response is "needs more variation."

....maybe i should just put it in my signature or something.

Thanks for the tips! :D I actually do try to add a bit of variation but with using some type of my own style ;) Anyway, here are 3 more screens I made today:

zelda004_zpsa68b0086.png zelda029_zpseaae908d.png zelda006_zps66e71e49.png

So far, that's what I have. Progress on my tileset has been delayed until I get some tiles I want to add confirmed before it's too late ;) Oh yeah, I'll add a bridge to the last shot, but as said, I need to get something confirmed first.
