Well I used the maps and got through level 6 and got the mega fist and the grapple beam thing and found the dragons lair but I don't know where the lens of truth is for getting the door opened and I don't feel like loading 50 maps just to find it since I don't have the slightest clue.
Also I have the level 4 lightsaber and I went to get the fire shadow blade and I died to the last cracko in the final stage icon_frown.gif and now there's a bug where whenever I beat the dragon tower stage I end up in the upper left hand wall of the next stage icon_cry.gif I'm using ZC 2.10 for playing this quest and it's been good so far but this is just annoying.

View Post

Stuck? Ah, you mean that whenever you beat the Lair part in the MegaZone you get warped into a corner? Well that's an odd and an unfortunate bug, but I think I've been clear enough that MMDWR DC is a ZC 1.92 build 183 quest ONLY. So it shouldn't be the quest's fault but the ZC's fault. Oh well... you'll have to wait and see if the MMDWR DC update I'm going to release soon will fix the problem. But I assume you haven't any other problems playing with 2.10 so you can proceed in the quest?

Just to make sure everybody knows about the correct ZC version as people won't seem to believe me:
PLAY MMDWR DC ONLY WITH ZC 1.92 BUILD 183!
Oh and mine and DFW's next quest will be only playable with the same version as well... just thought everyone who's anticipating Lost Isle should know that in advance... icon_wink.gif

Ok, I found a bunch of new bugs, a couple of which are very serious. I typed this up before reading your comment on not worrying about saving-during-cutscene bugs, so you can ignore those, but they're still pretty amusing. Oh, and although the Golden Link thing was obviously due to Cheating (gave myself the Mirror shield), the whole warping-to-Beat-conversation was not due to cheating at all.

I'm making these public simply because some of them are pretty hilarious. Also note that most of the following bugs can only be found if you actively search for them. But you can still abuse them heavily. Ok, without further ado...

---------------------------

Part of the Mega City museum exterior is off... you can become *almost* stuck in the wall. Not a big deal.

Toxic sludge in Power Station basement is incorrect graphically in some places. Once again, not really a big deal.

A button in the Powerless Station basement creates a funky graphical bug, because it tries to turn off the laser that isn't there, and instead makes part of the floor off-color. This has actually existed for a while, but I forgot about it.

HUGE BUG: if you are killed by the bats after Wind Man OR if you F6-continue for some reason, you will appear at the start of the Power Station WITH THE LIGHTSABER. Because of this, you can leave and go on a crazy rampage, killing all the enemies and stuff. But you can also cut bushes. So the cave near Light's Lab, the Sewer entrance, the Forest, and the area near the Garage are now all accessible, except really glitchy. The Forest and Garage areas take you to layer screens. The Forest one keeps you boxed in, but the Garage one leads to a huge amount of brown and layer screens... plus the entrance to Tornis City! BIIIIIG problems there. The cave and sewer are pretty interesting as well. They take you to screen 80, which you can leave via the right side and encounter some Power Station basement relics on the way. Without using F11, the farthest you can get is to a toolbox that has a LEP inside, but you cannot reach it. If you do use F11, you can pick up the LEP (except you pick it up 6 times, getting you another one and a half bars of life), and you can visit some screens to the right. The most interesting is the "You got Warper!" message apparently left over from the non-DC version of the quest (and a corresponding warp that dumps you off in the actual level), and there is also a warp that either dumps you off on the first floor, or takes you to the message from Dr. Light after getting the first Triforce. There's also some general bits of the Power Station basement. I had lots of fun with this one. My best advice to correct this is to simply make all the bushes unslashable. While it doesn't directly address the problem, it eliminates all bad side-affects of it.
user posted image

Continuing during the "you restored the electricity!" scene dumps you off in, as you probably suspected, more layer screens. These don't seem to be able to be exploited in any way, however.

If you beat the Level 1 boss, but then save and quit, the door leading to the Triforce shuts and you can never get it. Not good. Luckily, only morons would do this.

Continuing during Dr. Light's post-triforce conversation takes you to a really bizarre image, and then a new conversation... the one you hear after getting the 8th Triforce! It then dumps you outside the Research Lab. You are then stranded there due to lack of Rush Marine.
user posted image (what the hell is going on here?)

Heh, this one is going to piss you off. When you enter Dr. Light's Lab post-Level 1, you appear in a black screen for a moment before warping into the actual lab. If you continue while on this in-between screen, you will reappear in the Iso Dome's password machine with "3 2 1" on the screen and the number 4 selected.. Seriously, don't worry about this one. Only idiots like me would find it. However, don't rule out the possibility that there are others like this, that can be accessed through in-betweens.

A couple things I forgot to mention:
1) My comment about not being able to get any work done was about how much fun I'm having screwing around, rather than looking for bugs. I'm not actually really busy or anything. This is very high on my priority list, I'm just goofing around with it.
2) Wind Man is infinitely easier now. While I never really had a problem with him (except when the convey lefts screw up and I run into the spikes despite the fact that I'm holding up), I can see why others would. I'd say this new version is good. A bit on the easy side, but that's what you're going for, and it IS the first boss, after all.
3) Going to Tornis City way eariler than you're supposed to is ...... interesting. There's almost no way to progress. You can actually cover a lot of ground through the sewers, so I think you can make it make to Mega City, but with all the Bats in the sewers, it's quite a challenge. And it serves no purpose.

Another edit: don't think I didn't see you in the "X User(s) are reading this topic" thing. Why didn't you reply? *makes strange noises*

Hmm... you can get to Tornis City earlier than you're suppsoed to? How may I ask? O_O You're not supposed to get there untiul you get the Steel Plate from Lv4 (? Dome).

Anyways, I understand now why you're having so much fun with those laughably funny bugs. Thank goodness no one is like you so no one has ever encountered and exploited those bugs... icon_razz.gif ...or what do I know, maybe they have but they just haven't told me about it. Who knows.

But yeah, I have to take a look at a few of those bugs, but I still can't do much to those bugs that are caused by player's "stupid actions" like quitting/saving in the middle of cutscene/event/etc... And to be honest, I like that there are those bugs. Many good games have very weird bugs that are hard to find but when you know about them, you can have tons of fun with them. But after exploiting those bugs, if the player is silly enough to save then Id say it's the players fault if he gets screwed because of it. icon_razz.gif

So I think it isn't the end of the world if I can't fix these "silly bugs" because they're only caused by stupid actions of the player. Of course I'm a stupid quest maker too because I built the quest in such a way (though I built it in a compact way to save space). So I'm going to fix those bugs like the laser bug in powerless station etc. but if I'm not able to fix your weird findings then I hope you won't be terribly disappointed. icon_wink.gif

Oh and keep those bugs coming! But try to make clear which bugs are "real bugs" and which bugs are your "funny bugs" so I don't have to go all WTF here... icon_smile.gif Like for example, post the real/serious ones first and then all your "stupid player" findings... not saying that I have anything to complain about your reports, but if they were organized that way I wouldn't have to freak out here every time I see those weird shots of yours and then being relifed by your comment which states that it was caused by cutscene saving etc.

I actually explained that in the last post, but it might have been a bit hard to follow. So...

Getting to Tornis City early:

1. Beat Wind Man in the Power Station, and pick up the Light Saber.
2. Before restoring power to the city, Continue so you appear at the start of the level.
3. Backtrack through the Sewers and Mega City, so you are back in the overworld.
4. Cut the bush near the West entrance to Mega City, and leave the screen.
5. Go to the far left screen on the bottommost row. (most of the screens you pass are just layers used for butterflies)
6. An odd-looking Tornis City entrance is there. Go inside, and it does in fact work.
7. Explore the city or use the Sewers to go somewhere else. You can reach a surprisingly large number of places this way. (? Dome, for example) You can also try to get money and buy the Surfboard or something before you're supposed to.

Fun times. It's almost like the "Secret Worlds" in Metroid Prime. And this DOES work in the public version (I tried it), no cheating necessary. So everyone can have fun with this.

Sequence breaking! Like in a Metroid game. Anyways, I'm bored so I'll try this out.
user posted image
Saving and quiting on the title screen will bring you here, not a big deal as you just started the game.
Although I should have posted this in July because I saved and quitted at the title screen. Nice thing out of this though...
You can skip the intro if you want

lol... This is actually a pretty good thing. If people have beaten MMDWR DC to death or if they just plain dislike the game they can always have fun with these weird bugs/sequence break/whatever is possible when you quit in weird places. icon_razz.gif

I honestly have never tried these tricks myself because I've always known that something bad would happen, but instead of bad, this is actually pretty funny. Heh...

About that 1.92 B183: Would it be possible to transfer my save file to there from 2.10? I don't really feel like getting to the lofty heights of level 7 (for the 3rd time) because it's nothing really serious (especially since I have 2 back up files just in case the worst happens).

Oooh, backups?! Well that is smart indeed! icon_thumbsup.gif
If you update your backups often enough you shouldn't worry then. Even if some silly 2.10 bug occurs, you have a backup and not much progress is lost. So it doesn't matter that there is no way to transfer 2.10 save files to 1.92.

[hint]
But even if you make backups... I still recommend to new MMDWR players to play the quest with 1.92 only because that way it's a bit more enjoyable. (At least I couldn't enjoy MMDWR on 2.10 because I kept continuing from werid places and the midis got screwed up all the times)[/hint]

If you continue on the cutsceen on the first time you exit the lab. You come to a black sceen go allmost to the next screen down then go left and then down and you can go to level2 with no items. icon_razz.gif

Well the good news is I aced the megazone challenge and finally got that sweet golden shadow blade, but I got impatient looking for the lens of truth to see the passages in level 7 that I just BSed my way through level 8s acid area by using up 2 energy tanks. Now it looks like I'm either going to have to actually find the path through the acid somehow or beat the level. I used 2 card keys got the radar visor and now I'm stuck on that evil lab 64 (the one with all those evil pitfalls and bats and weird hookshot puzzles) I have no clue where to go and it seems there's no map for those labs. I need some help navigating this evil area because everywhere I go is a dead end. Is there some hidden passage to the end of it? Also I could use some help on finding that lens of truth item.
BTW: One time when I fell I played around with the arrow keys and ended up on some layer screens icon_freak.gif but I ended up getting around to the warp to the sewer.

There are maps for the Labs, actually. They're just not on Petoe's board yet for some reason.

Here they are

I may edit this post later for bug findings. I actually found a few since yesterday, but most are from continuing in places where you shouldn't. I'll go through the Iso Dome and possibly the Forest and Secret Facility today, then put up the bugs.

EDIT: I also just realised, I still need to fix some of those maps. The Research Lab doesn't show the hidden Metal Man statue, Tornis is still missing the Missle Shooting game, still need to make Tornis Caves... and now that a new version is coming out, some of them will be out of date. But I'm not really planning on fixing them.

Well I beat that boss my first try and didn't even have an E tank, I was a bit worried when he sent those crackos out but I killed them using my awesome golden shadow blade. Now if only I can find that lens of truth I can finally do level 7 and then go to Wily's lab.

Oops, I didn't notice you had made more maps! I'm gonna add them to that MMDWR forum first thing tomorrow...

And about fixing maps... after the update is out, only L3 is changed a lot. All other places will be almost the same except for some added shortcuts and changed enemies (but those things don't show up on maps anyways so no big deal).

Cousioner5, Jish's awesome maps could help you a bit, though if you still can't seem to find the Lens or you just don't want getting the Lens to be be too easy by looking at those maps then just describe your situation and some of us will surely help. If you're stuck somewhere, maybe there's a bombable wall nearby or something...

Well I don't really feel like loading 50 maps with my slow dial up internet just to find one lousy lens thing so I could use some info on the location of this elusive item like what map it's on. I'm getting bored looking all around since enemies are way too easy now that I have that awesome golden shadow blade, but I did collect lots of LEPs around the place, now I have 14 bars and 1 LEP. I can't wait to delve even deeper into Dragon's Lair and finally confront Wily in his tower icon_smile.gif then after I beat it I might start a new file and try to sequence break as much as I can.

The Lens is on the third floor. Try to reach the Northwest corner of the second floor, and you will eventually come across it.
