Looks pretty good.  This kind of stylized art style will easily stand the test of time.

 

I have to say though, the gameplay hardly looks Zelda.  It looks like the new Tomb Raider in a cartoon style.  Island survival with Link.

Is that trailer for the Wii U version? I can't help but feel that that is too graphically impressive for a Wii U game.

Looks like other HD games - I'd say it's the Wii U version.

 

Also, I noticed Link with different weapons and armour. Maybe I was right in that they're offering multiple play styles?

Looks about on par with the footage from the Game Awards 2014 to me, if not better.

I honestly have to say it looks like a PS2 game with HD resolution.  PS2 did stylized games like this too, i.e. Dragon Quest 8.

The other is the horse itself... Normally, Epona has a white mane and tail, as well as a white vertical stripe on her face. I couldn't really notice/didn't look for the latter, but the mane and tail are not white. It's probably an insignificant detail and perhaps they just wanted to change up her colors a bit for once, but it made me wonder whether or not you could tame your own horse in this game; there're other horses in the field (3:51), so it would be neat if it could let you pick a horse out of a few color choices that you like the most and make that your horse for the quest. I'd be okay with this.


On a side note, I'm pretty sure I called it well over a year ago.

If this is the route they took, I hope they do some extreme thorough testing to balance each and every one of them.  There won't ever be a perfect balance; something always ends up being the best choice, but if they can minimize the difference as much as possible, that'd be great.  I'd also like to see barehanded combat.  Fist Ring/Expert Ring in 3D~

Nope. They're doing 1v1v1v1 now. Alos, I saw Link sneak up to a horse and steal it. Obviously, Link is a criminal in this game.

Looks like it's a post-apocalyptic anarchist setting, so doubtful there's law enforcement. :P And maybe they were wild horses?

The overworld doesn't impress me. Nor does the apparent drop in frames during combat. The graphics look very Xbox, PS2, Gamecube-ish for my liking.

 

It's interesting how they took some inspiration of other games of similar genres such as collecting firewood from cutting trees. Collecting various armor and weapon types, and just adapting an open world environment in general. It's just unfortunate everything about those features feel cheap compared to the games they are trying to take inspiration from, and I doubt anything significant will come using those features. 

 

So far, this has been just as disappointing for me as I anticipated.

 

Lets hope dungeon design saves this game. But considering it seems like they are chasing games like Skyrim for dungeon design, I'm beginning to lose all hope.

The frame rate issues could be due to the camera angles their using. Their clearly using custom camera angles for the recordings and not how the camera would be positioned in the final release of the game.

I've been told also that the framerate issues could also just be the youtube streaming as well. I realized since I made that comment that the framerate issues may not reflect the actual game.

I much prefer stylized graphics over super realistic graphics that will age like shit (like Twilight Princess graphics). So i'm quite glad the game has stylized graphics.

 

Link was using a spear in the trailer. Please let there be other weapons for the weapon slot besides the Master Sword. I'm sick and tired of the Master Sword being the final weapon and not being able to equip anything else (Biggoron Sword doesn't count).
