If this had been like Skyward Sword, I think we'd have another five years to go, and every two years they'd tell us it was about to come out.

That's what I mean at least this game is so close to being really released and we are having to wait that painful five years. D:
Edit: It seems its going to rain tomorrow night when I go to the release... Well at least I get to use my poncho finally.

Finally the day has come the game will come out at midnight and I shall start playing... Its not that far but it seems miles away.
Just got to get through this day, and everything will be peachy keen. Also I'm going to my first console release night so there's that too.
(Yeah I'm not getting a console but so what? still going to one :P)

Skyward Sword was announced mid-2010, and got released late-2011. Unless you meant Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword didn't get delayed. ![]()

Um... I'm sure I first seen Skyward sword in 2006/7? or something... I don't know I could be wrong.

Um, it was initially announced at E3 2010, so um... IDK what you saw. Perhaps the teaser artwork. But it looked more like concept art than anything set to stone. They started planning during that time, but they were more focused on PH and ST.

In April 2008, game designer Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed the Zelda team to be "forming again to work on new games".[23] He later clarified at the E3 2008 trade show that the staff members had been working on a new installment in the series for the Wii.[24] The development of Skyward Sword started between the production cycles of the two The Legend of Zelda games for the Nintendo DS: it began after the completion of Phantom Hourglass and before the development of Spirit Tracks.[1]Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi and his team developed Skyward Sword and Spirit Tracks simultaneously until the latter was completed and all staff was transferred to work solely on the Wii game.[1] A report of Official Nintendo Magazine pointed out that the developers were still in the planning stages in November 2008, and that a first screening at E3 2009 was considered an optimistic prediction.[25]
While the implementation of the graphics was not advanced enough to present actual footage at the 2009 trade show,[26] the story of the game was almost completed,[27] and a single piece of concept art was revealed to a select group of journalists.[28] The image was released to the public a few days later, and showed a near-adult Link with a shield in his left hand, a mysterious female figure standing at his back.[29] During an interview, Miyamoto provided a story hint by pointing out that Link does not hold a sword in the illustration.[29] The comment raised speculation about the mysterious female being a personification of the Master Sword.[30]
Miyamoto also announced use of the Wii MotionPlus peripheral for integral parts of the gameplay, such as sword-fighting.[28] Support for this feature was dropped for several months because producer Eiji Aonuma did not feel it was effective enough.[1][31][32] However, the decision was eventually reversed when Miyamoto told game designer Katsuya Eguchi to challenge Aonuma with creating swordplay similar in quality to that in Wii Sports Resort.[31] This turn of events also resulted in Skyward Sword borrowing some of its technology from the sports game.[1] Aonuma later confirmed Wii MotionPlus to be mandatory, and described aforementioned swordplay as feeling very natural, as if Link's sword and the player's controller became one.[7] Instead of developing Skyward Sword around cutscenes, the team focused on the gameplay mechanics first.[33] The game was intended to correct the flaw of too big and vacant areas in Twilight Princess, while maintaining and improving on the realism it portrayed.[31][34][35] Nintendo president Satoru Iwata revealed plans to release the game by the end of 2010,[36] and mentioned that it would debut at E3 2010.[37]

Also technically it was plans to release it at the end of 2010, not a deadline. But it still counts as a delay, but most likely for the better and not "we're not satisfied yet" like with TP. Otherwise, I have other sources too, but honestly there's no need to go this deep.
And also been avoiding ALBW related articles and videos. People do like to spoil a lot stuff after waiting patiently. *sigh*

TP wasn't my favorite Zelda game, but I still loved it.
Anyway... Link Between Worlds tomorrow! I got things to do tomorrow so no midnight launch for me, but at least I can enjoy it over the weekend from the convenience of the 3DS eStore. I mean, they are releasing it to the estore, right?

Yes, it'll be on eShop, but I don't think there'll be a midnight release for the physical copy. At least, not at GameStop. I imagine it's because they don't want to mix the Xbox One crowds as well and get stupidly busy, which is understandable I guess. I'll just have to pick it up in the morning, which is no big deal.

EB Games is running a midnight release for it over in Australia. Too bad I can't get a copy then because I'm broke at the moment and I have money coming in on Monday. Will probably pick up one as a Christmas present for my sister on the Monday.

I think that's likely due to the game coming out a day later than here (though technically the same day since you guys are already a day ahead), while the Xbox One comes out a day before, so you're capable of having a midnight launch due to not having to mix crowds.
... lucky bastards.

Now if only stores hadn't broken street date and released it earlier in some countries. I've heard it got sold early in France and Mexico so there are spoilers out for the entire game already. I haven't seen any though at least. It's about time Nintendo does something to morons doing this.
As for tomorrow, I haven't decided whether or not I'll be getting the game. I'm currently leaning towards passing on it and trying to get it as a gift for Christmas. Still a chance I may change my mind by tomorrow. The reviews I've seen so far didn't really help. It looks as though the game lacks difficulty and you do get nearly everything from the rental shop which still bothers me.

My gamestop is releasing the physical copy of ALBW tonight along side X1 so I'm picking mine up, no big issue for me.
