If you haven't seen Hunter x Hunter, I recommend it. It was made by the same guy that did Yu Yu Hakusho.
Hell yeah. The music in H x H (1999) is the bomb.

I am so hooked to Noragami right now. The characters are so likable and not to mention that it's pretty funny.
I also finished watching Patema Inverted. Very good film overall. I love the artstyle and the ending was just....wow! Highly recommended. It's less than $15 on Amazon.

Four more episodes left in A Certain Magical Index. Then it's off to A Certain Scientific Railgun. I heard the 2nd season of Index is much better.

I'm just about done with the original Dragon Ball show, and getting ready to start watching Dragon Ball Z. I have to ask, is there any reason to watch the original show instead of Kai? I've heard the horror stories about the amount of filler, but I've also heard that Kai cuts out a few of the character-building episodes and the edit actually leaves a couple plot holes.
It probably won't be for quite a while, but without taking non-continuity into account and going just off of whether it's entertaining to watch, is GT worth watching, or should I skip the whole thing and jump straight to Super? Of course, by the time I get to that point, Super will probably be done, or far enough along that I'll be getting to watch an awful lot of it without having to worry about the wait between episodes.

GT isn't part of the canon anymore (wasn't to begin with, according to fans).
If you want the original experience, you might as well watch the original. Freeza was voiced by the same voice actress that did Genkai in Yu Yu Hakusho, so if you ever watched that, it might make watching the original Freeza fight more hilarious. Kai is great, but I'm just more nostalgically-biased toward the original.

One of those anime that actually has a good English dub. Lucky Star is another example, still watch that from time to time.

If you say it is a good anime Russ, then I too shall give Baccano a try.
Till then I am definetly watching Stan Lee's Heroman. This anime takes setting in a fictionalized California, USA and nails American culture quite good!
Imagine an anime version of War of the Worlds... This is Heroman. Action takes place regularly and quite properly. Character progression is dynamic and does not at all introduce too many characters at once.
I'd also sometime like to finish up Deadman Wonderland. Then after I am considering watching Aria the Scarlet Ammo, Duraduradura, Mushi-Shi, and lastly, finishing Samurai Champloo

Well, I watched both... It all depends on how much time you want to spend watching it. To me, Kai is quite a good watch if you want to skip filler and actually not spend so long watching it. However, the original has more content and, in my opinion, humor in the filler, though it can border on the extremely silly. If it's your first watch through of Z, then I suggest watching the original. After that, if you rewatch, then Kai will be the better option.
I also suggest watching Team Four Star's Dragon Ball Z Abridged after watching DBZ.
Which now reminds me... does anyone know when does Dragonball Super will start airing?
