Is the PS Vita version gonna have all the new stuff that was added to 1.2, or is just gonna be the same, not-so-great version that the other consoles got?

It's supposed to have some of the 1.2 update in it, but the full 1.2 isn't rolled out to the console versions yet. I know 505 said it should be rolled out "soonish" but who knows what that means. The Vita version however adds touch controls and a couple of other things, which should make the interface a bit less confusing then the 360 one felt.

To Orin

I tried it on my android and it was horrendous.  I can't imagine it being any better on a console.  A game based around accuracy of the mouse, and responsiveness of the keyboard can only get worse in terms of controls on other systems.  Local multiplayer is throwaway compared to global multiplayer, since they have to be nearby, and not many people AROUND me even know about Terraria, much less have it.

The console version is completely different since you have an actual controller instead of an unreliable touch mechanic. Also, you can play online still with several people in a single world just like the PC version. Accuracy isn't an issue, since you can still free place blocks using the right stick. The only thing that I'd say is outright worse on the consoles is that aiming is trickier, though I believe even that's improved since the last time I've played it. It's actually very stable and works just fine on the console. I wouldn't say it's a superior versions, but it works great.

Hey,  if you want to get it go for it, but I would probably just recommend the PC version to people I know might have an interest in the game XD.  No use sending them to crippled controls, lol.

Have you guys tried the new update?

I can reliably make it to wave 13 solo of the new wave event without any issues, but the new boss enemy simply takes so long to kill, especially when you need to kill 3 to advance the wave. :(

Barely. I checked it out for a few minutes while I was waiting for some friends to get on to play Dungeon Defenders. I haven't seen any of the hardmode content yet, but I might check it out next week sometime.

And that is survivable HOW? Even with full Spectre, all accessories forged to Menacing, you're hard pressed to outpace the damage with healing. I had my first death since the 1.2 update thanks to the Frost Moon. It's too crazy with everything hitting 70+ and heaven forbid you slam into the Ice Queen; she HURTS!!! Spectre barely outpaces the damage unless you're dodging a ton, which sacrifices your DPS. Vampire Knives and Turtle don't even come close to an acceptable means of healing. I really feel bad for ranged users. They have NOTHING. Hope like heck a 150 HP potion keeps them alive long enough to get rid of the Potion Sickness countdown. The only way I see this even possible without dying is to leave the Candy Canes until you absolutely NEED to heal. Even then, I can still see it become a massive storm of "You were slain..." messages even playing like that.

If I could offer a tip, use a Nimbus Rod (forged to Demonic or Mystic ideally) and have both clouds out at all times. Other than that, use your highest DPS spell, such as the Bat Scepter and don't forget to fire a Magnet Sphere in the opposite direction you're firing. You will really want Heart Statues for the Frost Moon, potentially a small honey pit and maybe even teleporters. Traps help get through the waves faster if you have Spiked Ball Traps. Just be careful as a lot of enemies can go through terrain and they all hit EXTREMELY hard. I did get a couple drops though, despite having to cut my losses being slain for the first time in a long time. I'll post my analysis of each in a spoiler.

I've managed to make it to wave 14 solo with my melee character and 13 with my ranged. My biggest issue with this event is that the Ice Queen simply has too much health given how many you're expected to kill within such a short period of time.

Made a new character and I get a lucky Strong Trident on the surface of the Jungle biome in a water chest. Then I made a new guy and for the heck of it gave him 1000 Presents and made a few neat discoveries:

-Red Ryder makes an appearance in Terraria. It's basically a weaker Musket with a slightly faster rate of fire. Just the fact it has A Christmas Story reference makes me love the game more.

-The Hand Warmers and Toolbox are worth 2 Gold each.

-Candy Cane Sword is a great Disc One Nuke with 16 damage and good reach.

-Candy Cane Pickaxe pretty much is a free Gold Pickaxe.

-All the clothes net 60 Silver each.

-You get a lot of free items that give Well Fed.

On another note, the Umbrella is another game breaker early on. No more getting owned by gravity. I think I'm going back to flooding a small sized map.

I just started playing Terraria yesterday, and from the X-Box version to this one, it is so much better. Definitely addicting. I noticed there are more areas, and by that, I mean like there was this giant tree I can explore.

Also, can I join the PureZC Community group on Steam. It would be cool to talk to some of the guys on PureZC about steam games without talking here in the forums.

A fourteen month bump. Worth it.

Yrimir posting his 1.3 video. It'll come out a little after June, likely, barring any delays.
