QUOTE(cousinoer5 @ Apr 10 2006, 10:58 PM)
Well I'm doing pretty good in this quest, but now I'm stuck in the ? dome, I'm confused as to how to get to the room that the metal plate or whatever the ladder was called. I have 3 keys one of which is a bonus key that I hope to save for as long as I can (so I don't end up like my last game where I had key problems and quit because of it).

View Post

Well the Metal Plate is on B1 floor behind tons of locked doors. It shouldn't be that hard to find the mini-boss room, and great news for you is that there's one extra keycard in a chest just before you enter the mini-boss room. icon_wink.gif

Oh and many people don't know that there's one very well hidden extra keycard in a cave near Dr. Light's lab... If there's someone out there who is stuck because of a keycard problem then I can reveal the exact location of that much needed keycard...

I found it, man 4 keys needed for it icon_freak.gif I used up all my keys even the extra one, hopefully I can come up with an extra one somewhere in this huge dungeon, and maybe I'll look for that extra key card near Dr. Light's lab. Maybe I'll try to get a couple more LEPs too I have 6 hearts right now and want to see if I can get 7.
EDIT: I'm stuck in level 6 now, I bombed a machine thing near the shortcut that leads out to the big water area but I'm out of keys and there's a key door a few rooms after the bombed machine. I need help as to where I could get any keys in this level.

A bombed machine? Hmm... I wonder where you are... there's a bombable computer on F1, but there are no locked doors near it... so that must mean you're already down in the floors B2-B4, right?

One you probably missed is the one on the second floor that you get by bombing the green thing that shoots at you.

From the big conveyor belt, go up, left, up through the door, and there it is.

There's also one in the upper-right corner of the second floor. Slash one of the fireball-shooting things.

*cough* usethemaps *cough cough* ididntmakethemfornothing *cough cough* Man, anybody have a cough drop? I might be coming down with something.

Another Wily's Revenge? Well I'm glad you're finally fixing those annoying parts. But I think I've had enough of the quest! icon_razz.gif I've beaten it 3 times now! A normal run, a 100% run and a fast run(my time was about 8 hours so it wans't that fast though icon_frown.gif ).

by the way do you need anynoe to test those changes you're making?

funny that you mention that. (not the testing thing, I mean the first part)

I've actually been semi-planning to do a 100% speed run of this, but I keep dying in or soon after the Power Station. So it's probably not worth it. Maybe in the summer.

But I'd be open for testing too.

Well, this may be a stupid question, but I can't find even the sword-thing!
I get the boomerang at the beginning then buy a bomb, go into sewers and stuck at the Power Plant. Seems like I need the sword (or else primary weapon) to defeat enemies or so. I played this game 1-2 months ago but gave up because this problem. Since seems like there is nobody with the same problem I must be very blind. Anyways I downloaded the quest from zc, not purezc, if that means something.

Well CastChaos, you get the first "sword" only after you've beaten the mini-boss of the Power Plant. It shouldn't be hard to find the mini-boss... there's one thin door that is closed... maybe that door is causing you problems? You can open that door simply by walking towards it. (Oh and before meeting with the mini-boss, it is recommended to have at least 1 E-Tank because it can be a tough cookie for a first boss icon_wink.gif ).

Oh and Jish/Johan, sure, I could use a few testers. I'm so darn busy with Lost Isle quest project that I have little time to test it myself (I'm still at L3 icon_razz.gif) so yeah, I could send the quest to both of you sometime tomorrow maybe?`I can send the quest by email or insta messaging. I'm gonna wait for your replies...

yeah, you can send it to me. I wanted an excuse to play through the quest again, anyway.

Just out of curiosity, how much has been changed since the last version? Besides fixing bugs, I mean. For example, I know you hated Level 3, so did you change it to be more interesting?

My email is jma1188 *at* aol *dot* com.

Ok, once again I'll go through the changes:

Levels:
L1. Removed some Gibdos and made the Wind Man Boss much easier (now if someone still comes to me and says "the first boss is impossible" I'm gonna go nuts! icon_razz.gif )
L2. Removed some Darknuts and made that trap part in the basement a bit easier.
L3. I made F1 a bit shoter, changed some keycard locations, made the miniboss a bit easier, removed lots of those annoying Guardian Bots (Ghinis) and added a few shortcuts. I'm still trying to make this level a bit better somehow if I just come up with something.
L4. I fixed the ugly looking smoke on F1!
L7. I fixed all those disappearing floor parts. They're not based on insane skill/luck anymore.
Secret Facility. Thanks for remeinding me about how hard this level was, Jish. I removed some uber powerful enemiesd and made the disappearing floor tile parts easier.

Bugs:
- Well... I fixed most of the bugs you mentioned Jish. I'm still trying to find any possible continue bugs by dying a lot, and that's where I need your help the most with testing icon_razz.gif
- 58 LEPs. Well since I can't decide which extra 4 LEPs to take out from the quest, I'm just gonna change the quizz minigames answer from 54 -> 58. Yeah I know you had an issue with the amount of LEPs and so do I, but oh well... I think it's better to have extra LEPs than to miss some of them.

Misc:
- I made the L2 Shadow Blade cheaper so that people can buy it before going to L1 (thus making Wind Man even easier!)
- I tried to shorten a few cutscenes a bit since there seem to be people out there that don't care about lenghty cutscenes...
- I could try to add a shop somewhere which sells the bigger wallet so that you don't have to beat L3 to be able to carry 500 Zens. That was your suggestion Jish, I'll see what I can do.
- Oh and I still have to add your name to the ending credits Jish, as you've more than deserved it!

I hope I didn't forget anything. Anyhoo, you can expect email later tonight, or at the latest tomorrow. I still have to think about L3 a bit and try to come up with a few more shortcuts for levels to make them less annoying for players...

EDIT - Ok, I've sent the quest to you Jish. I haven't heard about Johan yet, but I guess we two testing the quest is enough as I didn't made any big changes (excluding level 3).

Well, without even really playing it, I've already encountered a pretty large bug.

On the title screen, F6-continuing takes you to the Sewers and/or game intro layer screens (since they appear to be on the same map). I ended up reaching Mega City and the Power Station this way.

EDIT: ok, now it seems to take me straight to Mega City instead. interesting...

ANOTHER EDIT: F6-continuing while viewing Wily's letter also screws things up, it takes you to some Mega City layers.

What is this? Some outdated plan what what the Mega Mall would look like?

Man, I'm going to have a blast testing this thing. I'll probably just keep editing this post when I come across new bugs, and maybe PM you when I do.

Heh, lol. After tons of testing and tons of different DWR's these bugs are finally found. I'm speechless... I mean, no one should be as silly as to save during cutscenes and stuff but I have to look into these bugs. And yes, that weird MegaMall shot is my first plan of how MegCity would look like.

Oh and please don't tell me you're playing this with any of the new versions of ZC!? I forgot to tell you that MMDWR is still for ZC 1.92 b183 only. I have tried to convert it to later betas but it isn't possible because of the way the quest has been built.

No, I'm using 1.92.

Anyway, I... did some stuff. I sat through the intro like 30 times, because I kept saving at bad opportunities. And now I have to start over again, because I spent my money by talking to the guy who tells you info, and I bought the L2 Shadow Blade, and then didn't have enough money for the Bombs. >_<

Still not sure why you can buy the Shadow Blade earlier, it seems kind of ... unbalanced this way. But whatever, its your call.

Hehe, thought this picture was pretty funny. I'm not exactly sure what happened here. I did an F6-continue during Mega Man's monologue after you first leave the lab, and it led me to his coversation with Beat. O_o From there, I F11'D myself through some screens, found a warp to the last level, and beat the game in 26 minutes. icon_razz.gif I'm really not sure how I ever beat those last bosses. Even with invincibility on, I couldn't figure out their weaknesses. Ooh, and I saw my name in the credits. That was pretty sweet. Thanks for that.

Like I said, this is going to be way too amusing. I can't really see myself actually getting any testing done in the near future. But don't worry, I'll work to the best of my ability, and I'll refrain from using the Level 4 cheat so much.

Well you keep finding all the weirdest bugs in the world! THough I am 100% sure that some of are caused by your cheat usage. icon_razz.gif But anyhoo, I haven't found any bugs myself yet, and those bugs you keep reporting... well... you just shouldn't save during conversations or cutscenes. That causes bugs I might be unable to fix. But I'm sure most of people understand that.

Anyhoo, don't know what you mean by "I can't get any testing done in the near future" but if that's so, then I guess I have to test this alone then. However, have you any new suggestions/ideas? Some bosses/parts of the game still too hard/confusing? Oh and about L2 Shadow Blade, I agree. I'm gonna change it back to normal so that you cannot have it before L1...

Well I used the maps and got through level 6 and got the mega fist and the grapple beam thing and found the dragons lair but I don't know where the lens of truth is for getting the door opened and I don't feel like loading 50 maps just to find it since I don't have the slightest clue.
Also I have the level 4 lightsaber and I went to get the fire shadow blade and I died to the last cracko in the final stage icon_frown.gif and now there's a bug where whenever I beat the dragon tower stage I end up in the upper left hand wall of the next stage icon_cry.gif I'm using ZC 2.10 for playing this quest and it's been good so far but this is just annoying.
