That's really weird. I just tested it and it worked fine. Can anyone else confirm that?

Congrats on finishing it!!

Just wanted to let y'all know that I've been steadily playing through the quest, fixing up a ton of stuff, changing quite a few rooms here and there to make them more useful and balanced. It's an exhaustive list of changes; some not that noticeable, but some are definitely apparent.

I forgot if I told anyone about the Pulcheria Blacksmith yet. He actually has a shop there now. The prices are completely ridiculous, and there's literally no way to ever afford most of his stuff. Not that he has a lot. But you still get to go into his chimney and down the back of his shop (while he's taking a nap. It's cute.) and go into the basement and just kinda steal the armor right out from under him.

All save points are now in place. No more will we have to trek back to the same place over and over again.

Also added a shortcut from Marathon to the area in Kokiri forest just two or so screens west of your starting position.

I have no idea how I have the right amount of key-to-door ratio in the Crypt. No idea. At all. But it seems to work.

Excavation now has a much better path through it. It makes a lot more sense, logistically. Added a few hookshot points here and there for convenience.

Renovated some shops. They're actually a lot of work apiece.

The L3 Arrows (Which I lovingly like to call The Awesome Arrows) can now kill Mirror-Robes! Actually there's a lot of stuff these can kill now. They can actually hurt Darknuts, though their shield still stops them from the front if they haven't been hammered yet. To compensate for this, Mirror-robes have been added to one of the rooms preceding the room where you find the L3 Arrows, so you'll still need the Mirror Shield to get them.

Also, Mirror-Robes now only have 16 Hit Points, way down from 48. No more will we struggle with them. It's like, "[i]we get it. They need the Mirror Shield to kill. Can we move on now with the rest of the game?" Because there are so many of them in the game. :| I figure it was either remove most of them from the game but substitute other enemies for them, which may be more damaging or something, or just weaken the one that was already there.

Lots more. Too much to mention. Again, little stuff; but stuff that makes a difference.

Gentlemen, I thank you. Very much. I feel like we're at the end of the bugs, at long last. I've been playing and testing and playing and testing and playing and testing and playing and testing for a hella-long time now, mostly over the course of an entire month. I've gone back and forth from ZC to ZQuest, fixing one little thing after another.

The only major bug I have left is the very last part of the Deku Tree level, where you've beaten the last mini-boss and have to activate the boss key to get the last door open. I don't think it'll be that hard, but there's a lot of stuff to tie together.

It's the most convoluted thing I've ever seen in my life. I feel like it's currently held together by scotch-tape and what might pass as yarn if you're lucky, or just really hoping it's yarn. I don't think it's yarn. Because each "direction" of the cross-trap needs its own whole map. Basically, with scripting, I could do this on one map. Without scripting, this needs four whole maps. There were about 63 or so maps before I added a few more for posterity's sake.

So don't worry, I should have something testable before this weekend.

After that, it's all new content! :bounce: Yay!

Oh also, did I mention that the Dojo is complete now? Not sure how completely bug-free it is, but it tests okay on a basic playthrough. If anyone wants the L1 cheat, let me know. You may probably need it. The regular Dojo paths are pretty basic, but the super versions of the powerups are really hard. Like, really, really hard, apparently. I couldn't do them myself.

Oh boy, I'm pretty much gonna be playing this semi blind if I do get around to testing it again.

Hmm, wonder if that first floor Deku Tree route is still holding.  That was a nightmare to picture the 4 variations, getting keys to work, etc.  Last time I played there were some spots you'd get stuck in on mini bosses.

Oh, yes, those are likely still in existence. I definitely had a few minor struggles with them, and I'm sure none of us here would be even remotely satisfied with a scenario where you can walk into an empty boss room and only have one door open but no boss sequence start. That's ridiculous, and my puny mortal brain is no match for the spaghetti-like complexity that is currently the Dreams of Yesterday Deku Tree.

Sometimes I just want to "flatten" the area like, you can flatten layers in Photoshop. To just have a single map, replace those + traps with a scripted entity, and call it a day. The boss rooms would no longer be a problem.

Pipe dreams. Actually it probably wouldn't be that hard. It would mean we wouldn't need any more of those lengthy room-state-carryovers between four damn maps. :P

Well, never gonna get rid of all the bugs in any quest. As long as everything runs fairly smoothly, then it's good. fixing the game breaking stuff is priority.

Is there a current version of the quest with the most current updates at this time to test on?

one thing though.. if you get enough money to buy the sword he's selling.. you get stuck to the counter and can't get out of there

need to F6 .. to continue!

Yeah, I know that. :P You'll literally never have enough money, because the biggest wallet can't even hold that much. I suppose my goal there was to ensure the player KNOWS s/he can't actually ever get that much money, so they just don't try. It's a big psychological thing. Plus, the Zora smithy a few screens to the northeast sells the same stuff for much, much less money.

The only reason the Pulcheria Blacksmith has a shop there is to make you go (ಠ_ಠ) and then pretty much steal the blue tunic from his basement. I did totally make a whole 'nother copy of the screen just for him to be asleep in. I couldn't not do that.

---------------

pixcalibur - There will be, but probably once I do this upcoming major operation. I think I've decided, after a ridiculous amount of hesitation and procrastination, to "flatten" the Deku Tree from 4 maps into 1. It'll solve so very many problems, I'm sure. It'll also take a bunch of time, though. I've backed up the quest, and I won't do anything to the quest file aside from this until it's all done and is a success. This way I'll still have a version to revert to in case there's something awful that happens. No other changes would have been made to have been lost in the reversion.

Just in case, though, if you'd really like to see it, Here it is.
