Let me know which ones on this list you like. I'm gonna be on my couch for quite a while.

Of that list, the only thing I've watched and enjoyed is Read or Die (both the OVA and the TV series). It's not the best series ever by any means, but I think it has a pretty interesting and unique premise (for the time when it was released) and it managed to hook me. The 3 episode OVA is probably better than the TV series though since the TV series kinda gets wacky (and not in a funny way) at points and drags on at other points. There are also things in the universe as a whole that are not explained or hinted at very well unless you read side materials and it's more obvious in the TV series than the OVA. Still, I enjoyed the series as a whole even without those side materials.

For the R.O.D. OVA, I actually saw bits of it on Cartoon Network such a long time ago. It looked really interesting. Once I saw a vendor at the convention selling it for an insanely low price, I just had to get it!

  • Fractale
  • Noragami
  • Soul Eater NOT!

Fractale - Oh boy, this sure is a fun thing to talk about.  So, this is one of the most mocked recent series in memory. :P It was originally a heavily hyped series, and the creator was very smug about it, proclaiming before it was done that it would save and revolutionize the anime industry from all of the moe series and things like that.  Well, Fractale came, and it was... okay.  It had an interesting world and some pretty serious plot points, but it was muddled with filler in such a short series and some pretty contrived plot devices.  Obviously it did no saving of the industry.  Moe is still flourishing. So it's mocked quite a bit, or at least was a lot after it came out.  :P

Noragami - I've watched this one, and it's quite good.  I'd definitely recommend it, and it's getting a second season at some point.

Soul Eater NOT! - I've heard mixed opinions about the actual quality in general, but in the very least be aware that this isn't a Soul Eater sequel or prequel.  It's a slice of life spin off series that doesn't even focus on Soul or Maka.  You may like it as a separate thing, but don't go into it expecting another Soul Eater series.

Besides Noragami, the only other anime I saw on your list is Fractale and it's definitely good.

Haven't really seen the others to give a solid judgement.

Okay, how expensive is a complete Gurren Lagann? I saw one on eBay for $21 brand new. I remember someone buying the same thing at Anime Midwest for $67. There's gotta be a catch here.

I just found it on Amazon...for $160+ , so I'd check and see if it had been opened or not or ask if anything is damaged on it (i.e. packaging).
But if it is legit, pick it up as it is otherwise expensive!

Gurren Lagann is on Netflix if you have that.

Every anime I have ever watched by GAINAX is really good.

Any price is worth it for Gurren Lagann!!! *runs*

Uh, as for me, I haven't watched much lately. A little while back I actually went and watched Shinryaku! Ika Musume, aka Squid Girl. And it was okay. Fun, cute, laughed a few times, but nothing amazing. Well, there was one segment in particular I thought was really good, but otherwise it was just a decent time-waster. There's only one thing about it I can say I detested, and that was the creepy stalker girl who got played up way too much for my tastes. I mean at least the scientists had a reason for stalking Ika, but the girl's sole purpose was just to be creepy and weird. And it wasn't very funny.

Speaking of Gainax...

Then I recommend Hanamaru Kindergarten!!!! :tard:

... which I've actually been rewatching as well for the heck of it. It's cute, if maybe not too precocious with some of its kids. But hey, I like cute things, sue me.

(help, I need manly anime after this)

If you haven't seen Hunter x Hunter, I recommend it.  It was made by the same guy that did Yu Yu Hakusho.

So Miss Monochrome finally got a second season. In the year and a half break I completely forgot that I have no idea what the fuck anything is. But it's still amazing.

I watched the first 2 episodes of Noragami and I am falling in love with this anime. The action, the characters, the humor...they are all spot on! Hiyori is such a funny heroine. She reminds me of Tohru Honda in so many ways.
