Just bought Pokemon Y today. Gonna be a long week.

You must construct a team of nothing but Dunsparce, that is your mission.

... So like. Damn. Uh... spoiler tagging this, if you're a bit past the seventh gym you should be fine, heck you should know why I'm spoiler tagging this, but anyways.

Holy. Shit. This took a turn for the dark and depressing. Yeah yeah I know, Black and White supposedly did it too. But this kinda goes above and beyond. That was a seriously depressing cutscene and the whole scenario's just... wow. I'm... impressed. While the game is still following the same formula, this is what I call a story advancement. So far, anyway. Can't wait to see how it concludes.

 

Anyway, yeah, seven badges, and team so far:

 

Pichu (Bree) - Level 48

Delphox - Level 60

Pancham - Level 57

Florges - Level 56

Pidgeot - Level 56

Blastoise - Level 56

 

I wonder what the last gym leader and Elite Four levels will be like. I wonder if you're supposed to have this high a level at this point, because I really haven't been grinding at all. Not that I mind. Still, should be interesting to see.

Just beaten the second gym. I'm glad that I'm not feeling so overlevelled as when I was at the first gym. Then again, I turned my Experience Share off immediately after I got it. Trainers are about my level right now.
Also, is it me or is this game really long? About 11 hours into it and only just got the second badge. Then again, it will probably pick up soon.

Current party:

• Pigeotto - Level 23. Going to be dropping it over Dragonite/Salamence or Hydregion because I will want a dragon.
• Braixen - Level 21.
• Pikachu - Level 21.
• Azumarill - Level 24. Going to breed it with a Golduck or Buizel when I get access to Aqua Jet.
• Lucario - Level 25.
• Ivysaur - Level 25.

Finally:

Why Gamefreak, Whyyyy...

Why did you have to bring Vegeta into this?!?![/nerdrant]

Eh. That's no worse than my Pokemon Diamond team, in which 5 of the 6 Pokemon I had were weak to Electricity.

 

I've added a level 23 Golbat and the rest of my team is 25-26 now. I just need Mareep to finish the team up.

Well, it can't be worse than me. Every single pokemon on my team is weak to fighting, bug or fairy.

I guess I'm not far behind. 5 out of my 6 pokemon are weak to Electric or Ground and no Ground resists (save Pidgeotto, who is vulnerable to the Rock most Ground types carry). A Stunfisk would have it's way with me if my Ivysaur is out of the way ;~;

 

Edit: Well, look at the bright side. My Azumarill will likely be able to handle any non-legendary dragon I encounter, provided it gets a physical Fairy STAB.

Claus the Lucario, level 37

Fritz the Charizard, level 39

Glade the Gardevoir, level 34

Scale the Krokorok, level 36

Radi the Vaporeon, level 34

 

Claus and Fritz both have Mega-Evolutions, and Glade has one, but I lack the stone for it. Now... given that these are nearing the level I normally challenge the Elite 4 with, and I'm only halfway through the game, I'm expecting some pretty dang tough Elite 4 members. Please don't disappoint me Gamefreak.

So since I got X, I've been stuck near the first gym, trying to find a male Litleo. I simply can't, it's just not there. Has anyone else had this problem?

How funny, the Generic Trainers in the Gyms are usually pretty difficult for me, while the Gym leaders are super easy as well. XD

Anyways, having watched my brother play through Y, I'm fairly certain that the Elite 4 will give you a fairly tough time. (Though there is a change in them that makes them slightly underwhelming.)

I'm pretty crazy overleveled, but I'm fine with that. I'm that guy that always grinds out to ridiculous levels just for fun. I like one-shotting gym leaders.

Level 36 Pangoro (holy crap is he awesome)

 

I'll be picking up a level 13ish Mareep soon (since I'm in the town adjacent to Route 12) and spend some time building it up to my team's levels, so they'll probably all balance out around 40ish.
