Actually, I can't remember the last time I didn't have an anime or anime-like game character as my avatar.

Not that mine helped much at all. It didn't have "magnior" or "est" in it, so... my mildly educated guess is "life is nothing but a flower that perishes". Something like that, anyway. The lack of "magnior" is a problem, though...

You see, magnior is the comparative form of magnus, which means greater. And est means "it is". It's a form of the word sum, one of the few irregular verbs in Latin, The sentence means "Life is nothing greater than a wilting flower." Good job for getting so close!
