I really like the gradient you used for the sky, but the clouds seems to class with it. Another issue is the perspective is a bit off; I'd recommend using a different set of mountains to pull off that type of overlook screen. Next, you're using the grass wrong. There's 4 detailed grass tiles that should be used in various patterns and whatnot; the default grass tile should really never be used. And lastly, I'd suggest maybe adding a tree or two, just to have some variation. Overall, it needs some work, but for a first experiment with DoR it's not too bad (most people's first DoR screens are absolutely terrible. Mine sure were, at least.).

I was trying to make sunset cirrus clouds where the underside was red, but I might scrap that altogether if I can't make it work. It does clash with the sky. Thanks for the feedback and reccommendations.

Hyrule Castle outer walls.

Goron Gardens was once a productive mine, but from time to time again, the Gorons have had their fair share of misfortunes. They believed the Mountain Gods were angry for mining into their mountains, so they decided to build a garden inside the now abandoned mines.

I like your screens, the interior is superb!

but you've repeated the whole Oracle of Ages-esque Ambi's Palace entrance quite a few times, perhaps you consider something different than a moat but same function for concept/area usage

This is the very same previous moat screen. There's only one entrance to Hyrule Castle. I just edited the walls. :P

Thanks though!

@Shanezard - I like the shots very much. Unique. The only critique I have is with the first one. I personally don't like the choice of door for the outer walls of the castle. Since they're only the outer walls, I'd think that a big, open entrance would be better suited, since chances are, many people would be entering and exiting the area.

Just a personal nitpick though. Nothing really worth worrying about.

Fair enough, you make a solid point. I'll see what I can do. :)

Got a ton of critique on IRC, which is why it looks so great. Aevin's cave design in Hero's Memory kinda influenced me to do this.

AND YES I SPOTTED THAT OVERLAPPING LAYER ERROR NEAR THE 1X2 ROCK

That screen looks awesome! It does give a vibe of Hero's Memory, and this certainly looks better than what it was before.

The grass and sand (where there are no rocks) look kinda bland. Can you add more non-solid detail tiles?

But if you don't like old things, don't worry; there are new Link, Octorok and Kikwi tiles.

Killer graphics! Bright palette, harmonizes the screen. More ground detail textures are required though, as Moscow has stated. 1x1, even 2x2 (think Sd3 but go beyond that crap)

Oh shit, KIKWI. You should definitely get the .wav file of the Kikwi sounds, and make them play when they talk.

That would be so awesome.

I'll have to think about it; this may clash with the retro GB Zelda SFX though. :(
