So watching the livestream right now of this. Who's bright idea was to have items on? Zero Suit Samus just won a match because she got all 4 Smash Balls.

 

Apart from that, Zelda still seems to suck and Little Mac looks overpowered..

I don't like items on during a tourney either. For casual matches it's fine and fun, but professional matches should exclude those cheating bastards. I was in a GameStop Brawl tourney once where the first round had no items and I did fine, but the second round they put the items on, and also on high, which ended up in me getting cheap-shotted by the items. Maybe the appeal is to show off the new items or something in this tourney. I hope that's all. Otherwise I don't like it either.

 

Also Little Mac is great.

While I'm sure the competitors may disagree, I don't see the point of this tourney as being the most competitive thing ever. Nintendo arranged this to display and hype the game, so it makes sense for the items to be on to do that better.

 

So, Miis and Palutena finally happened. Both were sort of expected through leaks, and neither excites me much, but that's pretty cool.

I'm really enjoying watching Zero Suit Samus. I feel like she's been buffed since Brawl. Her attacks feel stronger, like they hit harder. It's definitely quite a kick to watch.

I think this was the first major sporting event I've ever been to. Really glad the winner was the same person I was hoping would win. Or player character, at least. That was formidable.

Yeah the final was probably the best match. Especially since the items were off.

 

It seems now Zero Suit Samus is probably among the best characters I'd say. Megaman was honestly disappointing throughout. That could be because whoever was playing him wasn't too familiar with him, but he didn't seem all that good. Wii Fit Trainer seemed decent as well as Rosalina. Rosalina still seemed a bit slower than I expected and bulkier. The other newcomers I didn't get too much of a look at, so not much to say on those.

 

Oh and please fix Link's recovery already. it's still quite an embarrassment... 

 

Also, why did we have to bring that Majora's Mask out? Please don't give more material for a certain site to obsess over...

That was so amazing! Reggie got so into it! Oh my goodness! I've never seen Reggie so exited in my life. The atmosphere was amazing, the final match was down to the wire, everything was just perfect. Nintendo came in in spades. If there was a suit better than spades I would seriously use it. That was VERY fun to watch!

Hylian: You should know not to try to guess who the best character is at this point. Come on. I think hugs Thought megaman's projectiles were bad so he didn't use them.
