Well, I think Ike is pretty cool, so glad to have him back, especially with his Radiant Dawn appearance.  I enjoyed using him a lot.

Also, I think anyone would look like they were on steroids if they could wield a greatsword one-handed with relative ease. (He also probably makes crushing rocks seem such a breeze)  He looks about on par with Little Mac, though. :P

Hey! This is kind of cool news out of Nintendo. I wonder if they'll work on Mario Kart 8 as well?

Huh... It makes me wonder why they didn't just include a Gamecube controller slot on the WiiU in the first place like they did with the Wii, but okay. I never was big on the GC controller (I play Brawl with Wiimote + Nunchuck) but I can't really complain. So does this mean there will be six different controllers to use for Smash Bros? Wiimote, Wiimote + Nunchuck, Classic Controller, GC controller, WiiU gamepad, WiiU Pro controller. Guess you can't complain about a lack of options.

I really admire Nintendo not just giving us the freedom to chose how we play, but expanding it. It's what makes the Wii U so great for me, honestly.

I wonder if there will be much latency with the GC adapter.  I play smash exclusively on a CRT because of latency compared to flat panels (yes, the difference is almost uncanny.)

I'm wondering the same thing.

This is great news. :) They actually selected good players. :D I am less worried now.

That's pretty cool. Probably useless to me, as I prefer the Wiimote/Nunchuck controls, but very neat that they're pulling this off. Though since they seem to be catering to the Gamecube-lovers like this, why not just make a Pro Controller shaped like a Gamecube controller? I heard some off-brand company is trying that, but an official Nintendo one would be even better.

I thought about that, and I wonder if this could be a precursor to GC emulation?

That would certainly help with the games that require pressure-sensitive trigger controls (like Mario Sunshine) but the GamePad couldn't emulate because it's not pressure-sensitive.

That decision always bothered me.

I wonder how the controls of the 3DS version are, btw. I'd like there to be a way to do smash attacks without having to use the attack button, like you could with the Gamecube controller. It's useful for making a back arial while moving forwards for example. :)

I really hope they aren't big on the shoulder buttons.  I'll be pissed if I have to "Kid Icarus" my L button, considering its practically shot.

EDIT: Here's hoping they have custom controls, a la Brawl.

Kid Icarus's controls had you move with the Control Stick, Aim with the touch screen, and attack with the L button. You'd be pressing the L button A LOT.

I should just hardware mod my 3DS to use my PSP shoulder buttons.  Who's idea was it to use ribbon cable style shoulder buttons...  Too bad they couldn't get someone like Gunpei Yokoi to design the 3DS...(may he R.I.P.)
