EXP Share is officially broken. I guess it's for the best to prevent heavy grinding.

I heard there is a game breaking glitch if you save in Illumina City. Anyone know anything about this?

Well, I'll watch out not to save there..

What a great game! I have beaten the first gym, but I wonder what these droplets were for? Also, there is no escape once you enter a gym, you have to beat it then? :O

I had trouble figuring out how to leave before beating the gym but I did. You face up right while standing right in the middle of the web, where you entered, and press A to get out of the gym.

Lumiose for us Americans, but yeah, I heard about it too. That's dangerous as hell, and sheesh, along with the other weird problems it has, it doesn't really reflect well on GameFreak or Nintendo, no matter how good the game may otherwise be.

Yeah, while the game's pretty good so far... it also seems pretty lazy. Game breaking issues and lack of 3D all around... Gamefreak realizes they can make money with minimal effort, and they're taking advantage of it now.

Anyways, got through Lumiose city. Those blackouts... that is the single most stupid pointless and contrived way to force linearity on somebody. You can see the lights, and other people just walk on through fine. Why can't I sick my pet dragon on the guy and keep walking through as usual. GF, come on, drop the railroading crap.

Currently at the town just after route 5. Saved last night after entering the castle. Current team is...

Spinz the Quilladon - Level 20

Claus the Riolu - Level 17

Fritz the Charmeleon - Level 16

Having two starters is great.

EXP Share is officially broken. I guess it's for the best to prevent heavy grinding.

Eh, honestly, I really like it. Trying to keep my whole team leveled up, and constantly switching the EXP Share around in older games was just... tedious. Now, it's quick, easy, and helps eliminate level grinding (the bane of my existence).

I have saved there already when I first got there, but nothing happened to me, thankfully. I think I won't save there again for the time being, lol.

Edit: And Russ, didn't they take off the 3D for some areas of the game because the game would lag too much? Or am I wrong? Because if you turn on the 3D effect during battles, the game lags slightly, especially with moves with high animation.

But it doesn't have to lag. Other big name games like Mario and Zelda are able to do it. GF just got REALLY lazy with the way they handled the 3D, and rather than optimize their code, they just disabled it in places. I noticed that the 3D turns off in double battles, which is just the epitome of laziness on their part; they can't even get it working for battles as a whole? Sheesh GF, delay the game a month or two next time and actually finish it.

Here's the kicker: It sometimes lags even without the 3D on.

Eh.  I don't think it's laziness per se.  I think it was more just rushed, not that that's any better.  I'm guessing that they didn't quite realize that there was much lag until very late in development (perhaps they were using more powerful dev units?)  I think you may be sort of underestimating how difficult it can be to make games more efficient.  If the problems were found late in development and were deep in the code base, the game very well might have been delayed 6 months or more.  Even if it were just a couple months to fix, they would have missed the end-of-the-year window.  Plus, if games are delayed, oftentimes fans get pissed (people got pretty upset every time Twilight Princess was postponed, for example).

Not that I'm coming up with excuses or anything.  It's just a much bigger deal to fix than you're giving it credit for.

(I guess part of what gets me is that you're acting like GF just pushed out a really lazy game when that is in fact not the case.  From what I've seen, Pokemon X & Y is by far the Pokemon game with the most effort and thought put into it since possibly the original games.)

Well, I guess it's true that they could've fixed the lag if they spent more time on it (would making the code more efficient help? I don't know...). But nonetheless, still a great game ;).

I find Y to be laggy both with and without 3D, as TS said. It's sort of a bummer, but I don't mind much. It's very unlike them, though. Their games are usually the highest of quality on the market!

Anyway, I got the 7th badge earlier !Just went back to Route 9 to catch a Helioptile, since I needed an Electric type and I forgot how much I wanted him a long time ago. Time to grind him about 35 levels!

So... the Name Rater. He's in Camphrier Town's Pokemon Center. Because that's not easy to miss or anything.

Anyway, got the sixth badge, current party:

Pichu (Bree) - Level 18 (I bred another one, so what)

Delphox - Level 49

Florges - Level 47

Pidgeot - Level 45

Blastoise - Level 46

Pancham - Level 45

I kinda regret evolving Floette, Florges is... strange. Oh, and I found out that one of the new Pokemon is a ring of keys. ... not even kidding. A ring. Of keys. I... what.

Is it a ghost type? Because haunted inanimate objects have been a thing in Pokemon for a bit.

Nope, Klefki is Steel/Fairy. ._.

Spoiler

Gotta say though, that is one cool keyholder, we can probably expect keychains of this thing from nintendo eventually.

Well, let's just look at it this way. There's a fairy living inside of it.
