Those in chat know I've been playing Tales of Graces and Tales of the Abyss: 3D. It's been awhile since I've juggled two video games, and they're both in the same series...Hmm.

...Though, I'm not complaining. icon_blah.gif

EDIT: Wow, I'm dumb. I already mentioned playing Tales of Graces...Well, I'm playing Tales of the Abyss: 3D, too. icon_frown.gif

I skipped ahead to Scarlet Devil, because I figured it was the first of the modern-type games. Unfortunately, since I can't get to Flandre, I can't bring myself to start up the next one.

The all I can say is to try repeatedly to memorise all of the bullet patterns and home on your reflexes so that you can 1cc Normal difficulty in order to unlock the Extra Stage. It can take months of repeated tries just to unlock the extra stage in any Touhou game IMO.
The extra stage itself, in any Touhou game, is even tougher than the main game on Normal.
Anyways, good luck on 1cc'ing Normal and then clearing the extra stage.

I found Imperishable Night (Touhou 8 ) to be a lot easier than the other ones. It's the only one I've managed to 1cc out of the Windows games. icon_razz.gif (Haven't beaten Extra yet though)

Anyway, I've been playing Duke Nukem 3D for the heck of it. I think I'm either really bad at this game or its really freaking difficult. D:

It can be hard for those who are used to modern FPS these days. People expect to be able to dodge any weapon fire which in Duke 3D is not the case. Unless its a projectile like Trooper laser fire, Commander RPG shots, etc. All bullet based weapons are instant hit. So Pig Cops, Enforcers, Battlelords all have impeccable aim with their instant-hit guns. So once you start thinking more in terms of 'getting behind cover' rather than strafing to dodge their shots, they become easier to handle.

Kid Icarus: Uprising. I've been playing the heck out of that game. I blame its achievement wall thing that keeps motivating me to send myself back through levels with the most ridiculous set of challenges imaginable. Aside from that, still chipping away at Ghost Trick, at a rate of about 10 minutes per week. And the Jak and Daxter collection, even though I've 100%'d 2/3 of the games on it.

I just came out of playing Doom which I was used to strafing around in. ._. Ah well, I'll just have to break out of it, I guess. XD (I don't play very many FPS games, actually, so I'm kinda new to the genre in general. :S)

Beat Dragon Roost Cavern in WW recently, then today just spent a lot of time on Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. I achieved 100% synchronization, and I soon hope to finish it entirely by finding the last of the Borgia flags. Before that, though, I'll probably play more WW, so I can finally have a fresh impression and decide whether it or SS is a better Zelda game.

Man, Dragon Roost was probably my favorite dungeon in Wind Waker. Mainly because the first time in Forsaken Fortress didn't feel like a real dungeon, and I really wanted to start killing stuff. Wind Waker would probably be my absolute favorite Zelda game if somebody could just release a mod to remove the Triforce-collecting sidequest. I mean, they used the art style so that Link could hint at what to do with his eyes! How many other Zelda games use that kind of mechanic?

Anyways, I found a couple of Zelda fan-games that I thought would be fun to do a blind LP of when I'm finished with Distorted Travesty. Has anybody here heard of "Legend of Princess" or "Guardian of Paradise"? They look fun, but I would really like an opinion from somebody who's tried them before. I had heard a bunch of really good things about "Eternal Daughter", for instance, but it was nearly unplayable for me.

Never heard of the fan games, but you may be right about Dragon Roost; that was indeed a really good dungeon and I forgot how good it was. Personally I'm a fan of Tower of the Gods, but we'll see, it's been so long since I've played this through that I kinda forget how the dungeons themselves rank. And I agree, Forsaken Fortress doesn't really count as a dungeon, lol, but it's still fun.

Legend of Princess I have indeed heard of *Points to avatar* and watched a bit of, but have not actually played it myself. It looks cool, though. It's really short, so if you end up not liking it by the end, you didn't have to put much time in anyway. icon_wink.gif

My Wii is getting some love. icon_biggrin.gif

Xenoblade Chronicles - Haven't played too much of this game. I'm about 6 hours in. Once finals are over, I will definitely play this game more.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle - Wow, this game is a lot more darker than No More Heroes. Only got this for $8. I recently beat No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise on PS3 and I had to get this.

PS3

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception - I just started this game after beating Uncharted 2 recently. I heard this game is short. I could probably beat this game within one weekend.

Rayman Origins - HOLY CRAP! This platformer is probably one of the best I've played this generation. Definitely better than NSMBWii which I found disappointing. It also brings back some memories of the original Rayman which I played on the GBA.

Local library finally pulled through on some games I've been wanting to play. I ended up borrowing "Sonic Colors", "Rayman Origins", and "Donkey Kong Country Returns". I've also got "Mario Kart Wii" on hold, and it hasn't come in yet.

So far, I've found that Rayman is probably the best one to do multiplayer with my 4-year-old brother, because it's easy enough to rescue him after he does something stupid. Oddly enough, he's fairly competent at this game, and I don't have to revive him as often as you would think.

Donkey Kong, not surprisingly, quickly turned into basically me playing while my little brother watched. He only knows about DK from Smash Bros. and never knew about the soul-crushing difficulty that was the DKC series.

Finally, out of the three, Sonic Colors is probably my favorite one to play solo. Not nearly as good as Generations, but it runs at the proper speed and isn't all that bad. Multiplayer's a pain in the neck, but the solo gameplay is fairly good. I do admit that the Wisp powers need to be more streamlined, though. The 2D segments are also a bit difficult to control, due to the weird physics, but it's still a lot of fun.

So when the heck did library's start letting people borrow games? That's the first I've heard of this...I wish my local library had games (Only thing they got is books...).

Yes the soul-crushing difficulty of DKCReturns gets worse when you try to do Mirror Mode. Not to mention trying to get gold on their time attack trials. Those times are BEYOND brutal, I don't even understand how people can beat those times! At least the time attacks in Rayman Origins is far more forgiving while still providing you a challenge to complete.
