Just got past the first gym in X and am currently training up an Azurill so it can evolve. Screw Squrtle, I'm getting Azumarill for its Huge Power.

Current party:

  • Azurill (Level 10), 100-149 Happiness.
  • Pidgey (Level 11).
  • Beedrill (Level 12). Probably dropping it in favor of Bulbasaur.
  • Pikachu (Level 12).
  • Bunnelby (Level 12). Probably dropping it in favor for Riolu (if I can actually grab one XD). Though Pickup is nice.
  • Fennekin (Level 13).

Sitting on 1 Badge. About to traverse the left side of Route 6.

Frogadier [Water] Lv. 20

Fletchinder [Fire/Flying] Lv. 21

Ivysaur [Grass/Poison] Lv. 20

This is probably the first generation where I'm trying to make an effort to catch every Pokemon I find.

I just got to the first town in the Coastal region (after the connecting cave). My team currently is:

Level 23 Pancham

Level 23 Skiddo

Level 23 Braixen

Level 23 Wartortle

I plan on adding a Zubat and a Mareep to my lineup to round out the team.

I picked up the game at opening. It's not something I was really planning on purchasing until a couple of months ago when I decided I was going to get it and go in blind.

So far, I think it's incredible. The new Pokemon actually feel like Pokemon, unlike the last generation, and the graphics are beautiful. The game feels like a combination of D/P and XD:GoD, which is interesting but I like it. The character customization is a lot better than I was expecting, and the battles are awesome. Soundtrack is also A+. Lovin' everything, oy vey. The only complaint I have is how glitchy Link Battling is but I read that they're planning a system update to fix the issue.

Just beat the fourth gym. I somehow wound up getting really overpowered, so most of my Pokemon are ten or fifteen levels higher than the trainers I'm battling...Whoops.

My team:

  • Delphox ("Cider") - Lv. 43
  • Talonflame ("Peppy") - Lv. 41
  • Golduck - Lv. 40
  • Espeon ("Pippin") - Lv. 38
  • Venusaur ("Pumpkin") - Lv. 42
  • Flaafy ("Banana") - Lv. 27

I don't know. I was feelin' the autumn inspired nicknames. And by that I mean I was hungry.

EDIT: Oh, and I caught a shiny Golett! I wish it were something more my style, but I'm not used to using its types so using it proved more irritating than exciting.

Made the battle themes in 8-bit style chip-tune today.

Wild Battle: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=hqL9pGyrAII

Trainer Battle: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=nTCL0XXFEBk

I'm still in Luminose City or whatever its called.

Got the event torchic, fennekin, squirtle, pikachu so far.  All in the level 16 range.

All I have to say is that Exp Share is very overpowered this gen.

Would the fact that, when you switch pokemon in and out of battle, they all get the full EXP from the opponent's pokemon be contributing to to your team getting really overpowered? I've been able to train a full party of 6 up to about Level 10 within a couple of hours before heading to the first gym because of this. I was hoping for the leader's pokemon to be Levels 14-15 like in earlier games. Nope, her highest was Level 12 which was where my Fennekin was at before the start of the fight.

They are doing this to accommodate for the younger demographic, who aren't as skilled as us. I'm not complaining about the EXP Share because, while it breaks the balance of the game, it is very optional.

Also, am I alone to have loved the designs of the Gen V pokemon?

Man, Hawlucha is a beast! Mine happens to have the Adament nature! I heard it can learn Fly. If so, then it's the first ever fighting type to know Fly.

Um... In red/blue/green, Brock's  were 12 and 14, changed to 10 and 12 for yellow version. And Falkner's were only level 7 and 9.So... Yeah, this is more a return to the older games than it is "making it easier for kids" They just started making it HARDER with the later generations.

And no, Hydreigon, Scrafty and Bisharp have three of my favorite designs ever.

I just found the obligatory 'guy with six magikarps'.

In the process of one-shotting them all with a Pangoro.

Did that with a Pichu. >.>

I'm not evolving my Pancham. He's too cute and his stats are pretty badass already, so I don't need to evolve him.

Pokemon X is so fun! I'll share my team later today, as I can't see my 3DS right now. I don't think it's the best team, but I'm pretty happy with it :).

What a great game! I have beaten the first gym, but I wonder what these droplets were for? Also, there is no escape once you enter a gym, you have to beat it then? :O

I'm currently working up my full team right now before I do the 3rd Gym.  xD

Lvl22 Horsea (Water)

Lvl32 Jigglypuff (Normal/Fairy)

Lvl38 Yanmega (Bug/Flying)

Lvl34 Combusken (Fire/Fighting)

Lvl35 Krokorok (Dark/Ground)

Lvl41 Doublade (Steel/Ghost)

When I have all fully evolved Pokes....Dual Types AND I'll have a Pokemon from each of the six regions!  xD
