:O Interesting.

Maybe they've made a couple of minor plot additions to tie in with Majora's Mask? Not sure why that's the first thing that popped into my head...

Changing tunics as Young Link would also be cool. Not because I think they'd do it due to the fact it would mess a bit with some things, but mainly because I just like how they looked in Melee. icon_blah.gif

In the latest installment of Iwata Asks, Iwata and Miyamoto talk about OoT 3DS, as well as why the original game is still held in such high regard. It's an interesting read. Iwata even gives a hint of new elements in the game:

QUOTE(Iwata)
Of course, the Nintendo 3DS version of Ocarina of Time is crammed with interesting things that weren't in the Nintendo 64 version, but we'll wait to talk about those the release.

It's doubtful he's referencing the 3D capabilities of the platform or the new control scheme and inventory improvements, since those are both touched on in the interview. It could be the Master Quest, but it seems like the reference of new material is to the original game. I doubt they're adding, say, an entire dungeon, though. Any ideas as to what he could mean?
Nah, Nintendo have already confirmed there will be no additional "new" content added to the game. The fact that he said that was probably just a tiny little marketing-sweet-talk, seeing as technically, he can be talking about Master Quest. I mean, he didn't say what kind of things he's talking about, and seeing as they've already confirmed there will be no extra content, I wouldn't keep my hopes up icon_shrug.gif

Would you mind showing me where Nintendo confirmed this? I haven't really been keeping up.

But I take his comment to mean things like added graphical detail that couldn't have worked on the N64. I mean, that's pretty new. There are a lot of "new" things in the game we know about. Revamped control scheme, new graphics, three dimensions, first-person viewing via a gyroscope, a Master Quest, etc. With the exception of the Master Quest, there are things that haven't been seen in OoT before. There may be other small details that haven't been talked about, as well. Like I said, I don't expect new dungeons, but I'm interested in what they're adding.

I really don't have a link. It was mentioned shortly after E3 though, I believe. Not that it gets you much xD

But yeah, see, that's the thing; he was probably just talking about all those elements. There are obviously new additions to the game, due to it being re-purposed on a new format, but what I was talking about was new content, such as new areas, dungeons, or even NPC's, really. That's what I gathered from it anways. I also have a few inside-sources that have told me the same, but Nintendo Norway (company called Bergsala, which handles press-related stuff for Nintendo in Norway, along with publishing) isn't always the best source of information when it comes to these things. But then again, seeing as it's also been mentioned by Reggie himself, I think it's pretty safe to assume that it's fact. Of course, if it's somehow wrong, and they are adding new content to the game, I'll be the first one to dance on the table :3

Maybe the running man can be beaten at last? Unlocking quests from each of the guys in the camp where you found the running man?

there is a lot of debate going on here about nintendo and the new Ocarina of time being "Better" or "Worth it" .
I think that it will be very worth it, to play the game with update graphics and 3D? Maybe not updated by much, but still.
Yes Nintendo is focused a lot on money, but GUESS WHAT! XBOX has sold aprox. 1.5 billion games, PS1, PS2 and PS3 together have only sold aprox. 2 billion games, Nintendo as of Dec. 31 2009, has sold 3.5 billion games. They are well ahead of the game, because their games are better, technology is FAR advanced, and all Sony and Microsoft can do is try to steal what Nintendo makes to try to stay in the game, it's pretty pathetic.

That post is pretty argumentative, and overall pretty ignorant. In all fairness, this topic isn't about whether Nintendo beats Sony or Microsoft. I don't really have time to argue about which is better, and everyone has their own opinion. icon_shrug.gif

True, but more on topic, I cannot remember who was silly enough to say that the 3DS engine can only hold N64 graphics, Not even close!!
The OoT 3DS is still a bit low on graphics for our day, because they just ported the game and updated what they saw fit, if anyone thinks the 3DS can only hold N64 graphics for the most part, I would proudly like to direct you to this game, with FAR greater graphics than the N64.

Whoever think OoT 3DS is what the 3DS can handle are pretty much the biggest idiots I've ever seen.

Might wanna be careful with your wording there. You don't want to accidentally offend someone icon_wink.gif

That said, yes, the 3DS is indeed powerful, and we've only just seen the beginning of what it can handle. Remember everyone, whenever a new console is released, the first games to come out on it always look worse than the last ones to ever be released on it. This is because after a few years of playing around with it, developers learn how to squeeze more juice out of it, and thus you get better, more advanced graphics.

The thing is though, that the PSP 2 is a lot more powerful, and that's why it's so easy for some to disregard the 3DS as "bad", simply because it doesn't look as good. This isn't the proper way to look at it, in my opinion, as one should not judge the games for what platform it's on, but instead judge it by its own merits.

Either way, one simply can't deny that a lot of 3DS games look absolutely fantastic! I can't wait to get my hands on one myself :3

Damn rights! I am buying one as soon as it is released here, already have the money for it icon_smile.gif Then pre-ordering OoT 3DS when I can. Yeah the PSP 2 is better than the first, but the 3DS graphics have already been confirmed worldwide as the most advanced handheld in every way. From games like Resident evil revelations.

Also, Nintendo has something Sony will NEVER ever have. Pokemon, Zelda, Mario, and all the rest. No matter how hard Sony tries, they will never make a character as popular as Link, or Mario. Nintendo owns!

Technically, that's more than one thing. icon_razz.gif

I have to agree, though. Regardless of whatever other systems are in the pipes, the 3DS and OoT:3D are gonna rock.
