But I don't understand something. How come Nintendo ALWAYS releases games of Sundays? It usually ends up kids becoming upset because they have school the next day.
There's a reason. In Japan, Sunday is the only day kids have completely off from school (on Saturday, they have a half-day). If popular games were released in the middle of the week, kids would have a motive to skip school to wait in line for the premier.
I'm not sure whether there is a law about this, or whether some (or all) the video game industry simply cooperates voluntarily. But anyway, what the kids do with the game after the have it is out of Nintendo's hands, but they can at least try to prevent them from skipping school for the release.
In 20 years, that will be worth big bucks. Gotta keep it sealed.
Sheesh, is that the only reason you're excited?...
Personally, I have a rule for myself: "hobbies are for enjoyment. Stocks are for investing." I don't buy something solely with the hope that someone else will pay big bucks for it way down the line. I buy my hobby items for enjoyment, I enjoy them, and if one of them ends up being worth a lot more than I expected down the line... hey, jackpot.
And for the record, I once bought a game for $40 and sold it on eBay two years later, when the supply was much lower than the demand, for what turned out to be nearly $200.
By "register online," do you simply mean "buy it anywhere, then go online and enter all the required info to register it with Nintendo"?... I want to make sure I'm going to get all the possible preorder bonuses before I do it at Best Buy.
