The hookshot tree is some screen northeast from the starting point. It's at the northern part of a small plains, just south from some mountain walls.

Thanks for the help folks, however, I had lit the torch already, so I'm at a loss. I was only able to open 1 chest and I believe there are 2 others. There is also a floor switch on one screen, it is south of a group of trees that block access to it. If you think you can figure out where I've gone wrong, I'd sure appreciate whatever help you can give. Meanwhile, I'm gonna take one more walk around, if my boots will hold out that long........


I got it!!!!!! I just had to take a step on to the right place and the way became clear.... thanks

i finally finished! that level 7 was really confusing, but then so were most of the dungeons. i was stuck in the block puzzle room where you can't see where to slide the blocks. there is one reaper statue darker than the other and i could swear that i needed to hit it with something.

How do you get up to the area where you can enter the tree to get the hookshot, please?

glad to see you guys made it through. ^_^

it's always a relief to hear that the quest is beatable.

my next quest will be something made with gameboy color graphics. i'm no good with storylines, so it'll probably be another dungeon-hopper.

How do you get up to the area where you can enter the tree to get the hookshot, please?

you need the magic boomerang from level 3 to get to this area. simply use it on the screen with the fairy statue.

Level 4 sword??? Do I need a red sword for L4, cause if so I haven't found one yet. I can see the second glove but can't reach it cause it looks like you need a red sword to move on to it. Did I miss the sword in the overworld or is in the level somewhere?? Please help.... tks...

The next sword is in Level 4. It's one of the treasures there, just like the new glove.

Thanks a bunch. But I'm still stuck. It looks like the only places I haven't been are through two doors requiring keys. I don't have any keys, and I'm sure I've checked under every pot in the place. Any chests I've opened thus far have contained a few paltry rupies..... I'm sure the answer is right in front of my nose, I just can't see it......... help again pls.... tks

try this:

in level 4, there's a key in the basement. if you go to the compass room, go up one room and head downstairs. step on the trigger to get rid of the tree blocking the key in the chest. now go back to the compass room and head left one screen. go downstairs, and make your way towards the first key.

oh, also...you might have transparencies turned off. you need them on for level 4. go to the settings menu to turn transparencies on.

I saw the comment about the puzzle room with the two different colored reapers in it... I can't figure that out. I'm sure my next mission is to find a key in level 7.

I also found a trick to getting the big wallet without any items.

there's two block triggers behind the ganon statue.

i think you can get it by letting an enemy push you past the thief.
