more sertraline goodness~

I've been in a pretty creative mood so I've been making a lot of progress. Kinda like how this wasteland-woods transition is going, so here you go.

This looks pretty nice, Mitch! I love the green in your palette. I guess the (non-existing) tree/brush trasition looks odd, though.

TS said I should post these! They're from Pure Quest 2, and the demo is up if you want to play it. It even includes these screens! Pretty good deal for 3 easy payments of $19.99, if I dare say so myself.

Do you mean where the trees are in the brush? Yeah, I tried my hand at making custom ones, but I couldn't pull it off. :(

Also, incidentally, the palette is Marshmallow Haterade. :) I love the redness of the palette and it fits the area really nicely.

@ Ebola Zaire: Wow, that looks pretty good. :) I always liked your design choices. Palette and mountain usage is nice, not much else to say.
@ Scootaloo: Nice shots too! I really like the concept of the cave walls coming into the temple. I wouldn't recommend mirrored block puzzles but it's cool since it's Level 1. :)

So yeah, I'm on a roll with Zquest this week:

Link sneaking into Hyrule Castles since 1991.

Also note that this isn't from mine and Jared's collab-quest. This quest will be about the Sheikah and will feature Link having an item that allows his body to release his spirit to do things he couldn't do in his physical form.

Well, I tried:

Also, THIS is Marshmallow Haterade? No way! Did I put green in that palette?

@Shane: Reminds me of Sprit Tracks! Nice.

I love the mountain arrangement. The colors also help the area pop, for the wasteland and forest! Very great job.

I don't like how the first screen is so symmetrical and boxy. I can tell the symmetry's for the block puzzle, though. Nice colors for both screens!

Loving it. It's simple, yet works very well. Just like Sheik, it reminds me of Spirit Tracks as well.

I think I may have added the green in but I'm not sure. Everything else is definitely Marshmallow though~

Building caves with GB graphics isn't exactly exciting. So I wanted to fool around a little with a tileset with a higher level of detail. I never seriously gave Radien's DoR tileset a shot, so I figured I might as well. Here's what I came up with:

I dont know if that palette is custom or not, but its absolutely gorgeous.

The area is also well done, detail seems to be in all the right places, even though most of the placement of larger objects is pretty symmetrical. Im not too sure about the big bushes though. It seems like they'd be better scattered across the screen, instead of perfectly lined up, but there isnt really any more room for that. They look fine as it is though.

Also, I cant help but feel that something is wrong with that mountain wall in the top-left section of the shot. The top and bottom mountain walls are two tiles high each, and there's an extra row of middle mountain tiles. It doesnt look all that bad, but it kind of cuts off the surrounding land. To be fair, I've never seriously used DoR, so for all I know I could have no clue what Im talking about.

I love this. Everything matches well. However, the mountains don't look right on the left side, as stated before. I know what you're trying ot do though. That technique looks way better with the DoR-specific mountains, and not the Simplified aLttP ones.

These screens are nice. However, your lack of ground details is evident. The shape and mountain/brush details are nice!

Thanks for comments guys. All the palettes are custom atm, btw. Anyways, I added a small village. (Also, I will have to replace some of these tiles. Especially the bushes and fowers.)

EDIT: Updated some graphics.

Getting a huge Kakariko Village vibe from that. *Village tune plays in head*

Love the detailing, and the dirt path placement.
