Nice looking shot! I love the way the house is build into the cliffside.

My only issue is with the right side of the house. The left wall looks like it's carved out of the cliff, but the right side looks like there's a sort of mound sticking out. It just doesn't look quite right with how it connects into the mountain. Maybe some shadows toward the top would help make it look like there's a slight overhang. But maybe that's not what you're going for at all.

I like the first one more than the second one, ... the second one with the lip above the doorway kinda causes some perspective clashes. ...

When the grass in the second "rejected" screenshot is full-screen without any other type of grass, I think it looks pretty effective. icon_shrug.gif The borders between grasses is where it starts getting more chaotic on the eye. I wonder what could be done about that. Maybe raise the grass with a darker color between them, on the lower borders, and on the upper borders, make the grass elevated with a lighter color above the new regular solid grass color?

Yep, second rejected works. The trees don't work, though (style clash), but that's another story. Just felt like pointing that out in case you consider keeping them.

Hmm...looking at these, I really think it's mainly your palette that needs some fixing. It seems odd to have black outlines around some things, and to have them be entirely absent in other places. It makes some things stand out in a strange way. Also, you might want to make the water a little brighter and be a little bit less saturated. Right now it looks like that delicious mini golf course water. :B *Cookie for who gets the ref*

Looks good to me! But shouldn't this be in the original graphics thread rather than screenshot critique (assuming you're just showing the grass)?

Please excuse the awkward locations of warp return locations. Most of these screens have been transferred from Souls of Wisdom, and remastered as a revisited area in Souls of Wisdom 2. Much of the warp return points were transferred along with the maps that I transferred over. This will be all fixed up in the final edits.

Also, the pink snow looking area is called Twilight Winter, yes, that is lava you see in those images. But Twilight Winter is another realm that's a result of the Dark World merging with the Light World on Death Mountain.

The white rocks that almost look like Snowballs are a Goron specialty on this mountain. They are White Eldin Ore, and the cave behind the village of Fii is full of them, and with no coincidence the new Goron home where they are being mined and stored around the village.

Oh man, I'm really loving those screens. The snow and lava combo in particular is really nice; to the best of my knowledge, Lost Isle's the only quest that's tried it before. It looks awesome! My only complaint is that on the screen with the blue rupee, walking up straight into a tree might be annoying. Other than that, they're awesome!

Damn Cole, the way you made ravines in some of those shots turned out great. May I suggest sparkles like in ALTTP?
