Sorry, I saw this late last night, but was too tired to reply. It looks fantastic! Did you use the method we talked about in skype? It looks official, I'd love to see it in action! icon_biggrin.gif

You will soon! Just finishing up the Tutorial System that walks the player through how to use the Sword's special moves (there are light-up diagrams and icons involved... the hardest part, by far, is setting the X,Y coordinates of everything properly icon_wacky.gif ugh I am really a better abstract thinker than visual), along with one other thing that I'm afraid to do but must be done, then I'll hopefully have a video up!

My hope is to meet this goal by the end of this month of March, but it's even better if I do so sooner than this, 'cause at the end of March I will be a panelist speaker at three different Autism conferences, and my attentions will have to shift to that for a few weeks.

The methods I told you about in Skype, yes, those are what spawn the enemies each Wave (still buggy, but at least functional)... The methods that spawn this screen are mostly a single Frame Counter and a crap ton of "if(Frame > n)" branches to plot each stage of the Victory screen's text appearances, movements, colors, etcetera. Scripting it was kinda like... writing a skit with nothing but math, if that makes sense. icon_smile.gif It was really fun but also really exhausting.

I hear you man. icon_biggrin.gif It sounds awesome. And from what I read, a LOAD of work was put into it. I think you are doing a wonderful job. icon_smile.gif When that video goes up, I am definitely watching it. icon_wink.gif If it's not perfect now, don't worry. Perfection comes with time when it comes to code.

The white trees look odd. If the snow appears orange, why wouldn't the white leaves?

Could have all red leaves. I was aiming for a mystical unnatural look.

How about this?

I can't say I'm a fan of the palette used for the purple floor/walls and the ganon statue. The purple looks decent for the water and gives off a nice sunset vibe, but it just looks....ewww... on the walls and floor. x-x

The orange on the other hand gives everything a nice sunset feel, and I can get on board with that.

NJF, those are beautiful. Perhaps the shades of purple for the temple bricks could be a paler shade, but the sunset image is just perfect. So captivating. icon_love.gif

Tonight I will try a few ideas with the wall and floor tiles, I might post a few sample images, or I might just go with my instincts. The end result should compliment the theme I am trying to represent.

Unused palette. Feel free to color-pick if you like it. (I can't put dropbox pics in img-tags?)

Edit: I see you can't open it. I might fix this should I find the time. Sorry that >_<

what do you think?

NJF, I like the sunset vibe but the Ganon statue looks horribly miss-colored try recoloring and get rid of some of the brown/darkening it.

Nightmeres: I'm loving that area of yours. The fog seems just right, and the palette is perfect. I can just feel the damp, even on the screens where there's not actually any water. Personally, I'm not a fan of walking behind trees like it appears is possible, but to each his own, I suppose. Looking great, in any case!

Edit: Oops! There seems to be some height inconsistency on the first screen, where the mountain is three tiles high on the left but then two tiles high elsewhere. You can bend your mind into imagining a slope there, but it's not represented by the graphics and I think it's best if the height stays at 2 all the way.

Those screens are actually quite wonderful, Nightmeres! More than I thought you were capable of. Nice to know you've improved!

The palette is fitting. However, why are you using two kinds of mountains? While it's not technically a bad thing, it does look a bit odd. If it were me, I'd choose one kind. (And I would choose the softer, more flat ones as I think they are better. icon_razz.gif)

The last picture doesn't make much sense. You're using beach tiles for a river? I think I also see a tile error in the bottom right. The "bridge" thing on the left side of the screen has little lines inside of it. I think you used the wrong tiles, and could easily be fixed. I love the layout and features of the screen though! Good luck!

This is Link's house. Or hole, depending on how you look at it, I guess. Those of you with keen eyes might want to have that checked out, cause that sounds like a terrible infection, but this shot is actually kind of inspired by one of the first screens you'd see in the old tHP demo. Meaning what you see here is good old Treskott Village. I am not sure at the moment if we're going to keep that name, but the general layout will probably be a little familiar to people who played the original demo.

Also, it's been a while since I've done screens in ZC, so there are probably some errors, both big and small. Feel free to point them out, that'd be really helpful, but do know that I'm already aware of the weird color-issues and some of the layering (over the flowerbed, for example).

Edit:

I've added a few more details and edited some minor stuff.

I really like the grassy transition from ground to cliff and the aquatic miscellany. The gate is good, but it looks slightly out of place; I am not sure of what to recommend for it, though. It may look nice to have the outcrop above the door more circular instead.

Looks good.
