So, here's new footage from da game.

Something I noticed: While in Lorule, Death Mountain is pretty much completely white on the map. Could this mean that in Lorule, Death Mountain is a snowy biome? That'd be an interesting change of scenery.
Looks pretty awesome, except the game pausing, camera shifting to focus on the new opening and then the secret jingle playing when he blew open the cave with a bomb. Why did they feel the need to emphasize what you've done? It's something I find annoying in most of their "modern" games (Wii era and newer). Putting such dramatic emphasis on simple/basic things is dumb.

You think that the iconic secret jingle shouldn't be present when you accomplish something? I'm okay with changing it up here and there, but you CAN'T get rid of a tune that has been present in every single Zelda game. It would be disgraceful.

I'm pretty sure he meant it basically becoming a cutscene, where the camera pans over.

I'm sure he meant that too, though the games have been doing that since Ocarina of Time.

Yeah, but it was usually meant for more significant things, such as bombing open Dodongo's Cavern. They never did it when you bombed a fairy fountain open, or for other things like that. Plus, it works better in the 3D titles because it helps place emphasis on something you can't see, whereas in the top down games, you can usually see most or all of the room you're in because you have a bird's eye view.

Yep, in the original LttP it would just play the jingle, no forced cutscene moment.
The 2 N64 games and the Gamecube game tended to only do it for either important stuff or stuff that would be hard to notice (Especially since playing in a 3D plane was new back then).
In A Link Between Worlds the cave had statues either side of a odd looking section of the wall, it played a secret jingle when it was blown open AND they made it a cutscene moment, wtf!? I coulda figured out it was bombable with just the statues and odd looking wall segment, the other indicators are just silly and over the top for confirming what you've done.

This is Nintendo, they think you might get stuck and don't know what happens if you bomb a cracked mountain wall. ![]()
I think it's silly, since the music indicates something happened and it's common sense anyway. ![]()

Nintendo: Welcome to The Legend of Zelda! First time player?
Player: No.
Nintendo: That's great! Let us teach you how to play, first you need to put your hand on the controller.
Player: Okay....
Nintendo: Now press the BIG big big big start button on the touch screen that says start.
Player: I got it.
Nintendo: Start roughly means to start the game.
Player: I guess I wouldn't have figured that out.
Nintendo: Now this is where you begin your new file, there are three in total.
Player: I can see that.
Nintendo: Select start a new file to start a new file.
Player: You've just enlightened me.
Nintendo: Now you have to enter your name, we advise you to learn the alphabet from A to Z as it will be very helpful, and also ask your parents on what name you should add into your brand new file.
Player: I know my name...
Nintendo: In case you are already prepared, use the highlighter to select each letter of the alphabet which is required to fill out a name.
Player:.....
Nintendo: Once you finished adding in your name, select Finish to confirm you have finished.
Player: OMG I HATE THIS GAME!!!! (rage quit)

You do realize that's a spoof article on a site full of spoof articles and parodies, right? That didn't actually happen. ![]()
However, it does kinda get the point across about what people nowadays expect out of video games.
