Regarding the titans, the series creator, Isayama, stated that his intention was to make them creepy, disturbing. They have smiles that would almost seem happy, but it's juxtaposed with them being killing machines incapable of communication, in an eerie way that just strikes you as somewhat off. I think it's pretty effective, save for one or two titans that look just a tad bit too over the top. Most are at that sweet spot where they just feel wrong, in a disturbing way.I must say, though, that the titans - with the exception of the big flayed guy - look pretty ridiculous. I'm not threatened by them AT ALL.

I can understand that, but I feel the designs could have been better. Perhaps give them animal/non-human traits, such as beady eyes and horns, and maybe some scars to make them more threatening. I just don't find giant naked men very scary... Now, of course, if I saw a giant naked man in a real life situation, I'd probably soil myself...

I did see an episode of Shingeki no Kyojin a month ago (maybe?), and didn't really care for it. Then again, I don't watch anime as much as I did in the last decade due to time constraints. ![]()
...Although last Halloween I watched a three-OVA saga called Violence Jack, and given the dark nature of the OVAs, I figured it was appropriate for that time of year.

Went back to watching Attack on Titan. Got to Episode 8. Man that Mikasa. She is such a badass an awesome character. Forgot Eren, Mikasa's the star of the show.

See, her moment in episode 7 was possibly my favorite part of the show. But then that twist in episode 8 happened, and guess what? There goes all her character development. She may be a badass, but she's also kinda boring. I tend to prefer the secondary characters (Connie, Sasha, and Reiner being my favorites), but that's partially because of the character development they get in the manga after season 1.Forgot Eren, Mikasa's the star of the show.

Sasha passed some gas! I'm taking that Mikasa gets Yuki Nagato syndrome after episode 8?

Not exactly sure what Yuki Nagato syndrome is, but her character basically stagnates. "Eren, Eren, protect Eren, obsess over Eren, Eren." That sums up her personality and character development from here on out. She had so much potential, and then just kinda flatlined.Sasha passed some gas! I'm taking that Mikasa gets Yuki Nagato syndrome after episode 8?

I just watched one episode of the English dubbed version of Devil Survivor 2 The Animation. The dubbing sounds pretty bad.... ![]()

Even worse was that Kenji Ito didn't do the OST for it... He did the game OST...

I'm watching Noragami for some reason, and I think I love it. I quickly grow attached to people who develop spirit limbs, can "accidentally leave their body behind," and can see into parallel yet related dimensions.
Noragami is awesome, I remember watching it current. Actually, if we pretend the first FMA anime was never made, I think Studio Bones has never done a crappy series. They almost always to a fantastic job. Soul Eater, Captain Earth, No.6, Darker than Black, Ouran, Wolf's Rain, Space Dandy. Pretty good lineup under their belt, and only one embarrassment. Every studio has their clannad.
