Oh, well now it makes sense. Personally, I think it'll make things more immersive in the previous games. And if your reasoning is because this is the Master Sword's origin story, why stop at Ocarina of Time? A Link to the Past, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, every game that featured the Master Sword will seem different after Skyward Sword, won't it? Mostly, I'm just curious because I feel like this game will have more ties to A Link to the Past than it will to Ocarina of Time. Due to the forging of the Master Sword, which took place in ALttP's manual. Child being relived and revealed? I'm all up for that. icon_biggrin.gif

This is the most by far one of the most epic boss fights in video game history in my opinion!

Every picture/video has the shield bar full, maybe the shield doesn't break, or it hasn't been coded yet? I'm starting to think that the shield bar is used for a different purpose than what was previously discussed here. Does anyone have a source for the breakable shields thing?

Also, a few things I noticed in the boss fight video MK posted.

-Awesome boss music
-TP Hylian Shield, yet the game is pre-OoT. That's like saying that Hyrule didn't like the OoT design, so in TP they switched back to a design that hasn't been used since SS, story-wise. Either someone at Nintendo wasn't paying attention to that small detail, or nobody at Nintendo really gives a crap about the shield design. I'm only bringing that up because I like the OoT Hylian Shield better.
-Wind Waker sound effects (particularly the heart beep and the heart pick-up noise).
-The boss fight seemed more like a movie instead of a video game, if you know what I mean. One thing I really didn't like about OoT's (and a few other Zelda games) boss fights were that they were waaaay to repetitive, and seemed more like a mini-game than a boss fight. Take Volvagia for example, it's essentially a life size game of whack-a-mole, where occasionally a mole escapes and flies around for a while. Another example, Ganondorf, again, it's just a variation of another game, tennis. This boss fight seems more realistic in the sense that you're fighting him, instead of preforming some sort of task and dodging something that could damage you.

And also note that if you corner him he will disappear and reappear behind you. Also If you have noticed Phi and Ghirahim both have a diamond witch are nearly the same size and have the same gold edge around the diamond. Possible connection perhaps?

Well since we know Phi's a sword (or becomes one), maybe that means Ghirahim becomes a sword as well. And he looks a WHOLE lot like the Gilded Sword from MM, which is an upgrade to the Kokiri Sword. So maybe he gets turned into the Kokiri Sword at the end of the game. Maybe.

Edit: Gilded Sword, not razor, dangit.

Oh yeah. I can clearly see the resemblance. Mhm. Definitely related.

... Yes I know what you meant. icon_deformed.gif

I still don't think Ghirahim has any connection to any swords cuz, let's face it, the Kokiri Sword and its line are nothing special. Besides, you have to get the sword reforged to get to the Gilded Sword anyway; it's gotta be nothing more than a stretch or a shoutout or something similar. I still see Ghirahim as similar to the Twili, as much as I hate them. But whatever. We'll find out when we get there.

You know what? I think Phi is not a sword (and this makes Phi related to Ghirahim if my theory is right) Link has one before he obtains the Skyward Sword aka Phi (proven to be see in the trailer when Link and Zelda ride their birds before Zelda gets taken). Maybe Phi upgrades your sword to the Skyward Sword? And then resides in it? I got one piece of proof if your saw when Link obtains the upgraded beetle in the dungeon demo Phi jumps out of the sword if Phi were the sword the sword would have disappeared and transformed into Phi making this possible she isn't a sword.

I'm not certain but I think that sword is the Skyward Sword before it gets reforged into the Master Sword. Plus, she's the spirit that resides within the sword and she could just come out and talk to you. Not sure why she wouldn't be able to in the later iterations of the series, though...

Easy answer, Nintendo hadn't thought of her yet icon_deformed.gif

Simple, she gets written out as a character in a (not at all) unexpected plot twist where she sacrifices herself or something.

Nope, it's been confirmed she's a spirit inside the sword.

Phi = Spirit. Ghirahim = Demon. Both have gems around the same size and both have a golden edge around them. Wouldn't suprise me if they are connected in some way. Oh well we'll have to wait and see for ourselves.

There are three swords that are seen in this game 1) The Master Sword 2) The Skyward Sword 3) The Sword that Link has before obtaining The Skyward Sword.

Here is the info I checked up on..

Also Phi dosen't have to be in the Master Sword at the time don't forget she is a spirit who resides in it she could leave any time she wanted too.

And also note the Master Sword looks completely different if you look at that way too.

Anyone else notice that Link seems to have the Master Sword (the strongest sword) and the Hylian Shield (the strongest shield) fairly early in the game? Notice the number of heart containers he has, judging by the usual amounts in recent Zelda games, he barely has half of the full meter! You can argue that Link has around this many hearts when he finds the Master Sword in Ocarina of Time, but there is still one more sword and shield to get. Maybe there is only one line of hearts in Skyward Sword? Or maybe sidequests for hearts haven't been added into the game? Or maybe the people playing in the trailers didn't bother to get the optional hearts?

Anyone else find this strange?
