I love 3D Land/ World. I might be in the minority, but to me they are both very solid and fun Mario games. I will agree about the lack of change in graphical style between the two, but it gets the job done and the graphics are quite clean and nice for what they are. It's kind of hard to get back into Land after World though, as my last playthrough kinda fizzled out after the regular worlds.

I didn't complete one of the timed mini-level boxes between levels successfully and can't go back. Does that mean I won't get 100%?

I'm pretty certain they all respawn after beating the final boss. Just keep going and don't worry about it.

The Mystery Houses can be challenged at any time and you can return to them at any time over and over again.

The water temple doesn't need Farore's Wind, but I imagine it is a useful shortcut.

Are you sure you can't enter at the top of the tower and use the iron boots to sink down? I'm pretty sure there is a door at the top of the central tower.

I did circle the tower with the water at its highest and couldn't find a way in. I don't think I missed something...

Regardless, the water should only need to be at medium height in order for the block inside the tower to float up, allowing passage to the space beneath it and there's definitely a door on the medium setting.

In the standard game yes. In this Master Quest, that space beneath it is covered with a grating that you must release by lighting the torches... and to get close to the torches you need to raise the water all the way to use the floating block to reach the Time Block

@Cukeman, I don't remember having to use Farore's wind in MQ's Water Temple, but I could be wrong since it's been so long. I do remember finding both the Water, and Fire Temples to be easier though, in some ways. The Fire Temple you basically just go through backwards, and I seem to remember the water temple just not being as confusing.

Surprisingly a lot of the Master Quest dungeons are more straight forward, which is disappointing lol. They often rely upon poor ways to obscure the puzzle answers which end up making the solutions more obvious (executing what is required might be more difficult though).

I'd say it's much easier to go straight to the bosses and kill them, while getting every chest and gold skulltula becomes a lot more difficult.
