Been playing a lot of Mario Kart 7 lately, and I wanted to do some complaining.

-No more blooper ink squirts please, it was cute the first time, but I'm sick of not being able to see what I'm doing.

-No more "shrinking" the music track when you're character is shrunk please, it sounds so grating

-I need to use the D-Pad to steer, I can't snake on the circle pad like I could on the DS Lite, so I've never been able to dodge a blue shell in MK7, while I often did on MKDS

-Is there a reason new track records in Grand Prix mode aren't added to your time trial data?

-When you're in a Grand Prix there really should be an option to restart the Grand Prix instead of quitting the game and reselecting everything. I've been going for 3 stars, and it's easy to tell when you've screwed things up and need to restart. Such a pain

-Also, why are there less characters than MKDS? Wario but no Waluigi?

Someone contacted Nintendo on this, and said that they had to cut him in order to get the game released in time. They also said this will "never happen again," which is probably true, considering how popular he's become in the past few years.

Also, I liked the challenge levels in MKDS, would have liked more of those

I wonder if they could patch him in in a free DLC scenario.

Beat Tri Force Heroes. Ultimately okay. Will post more in-depth thoughts after diving into multiplayer in case that changes my mind on any of my current thoughts. Will say that singleplayer isn't a terrible experience like predicted, it was manageable, sometimes frustrating, sometimes fun.

My brother has been obliging me to play the Danganronpa visual novels. I've already beaten the first one and I'm currently chipping my way through the second one. Brother says Daganronpa 2 is the best, but I'll be the judge of that.

I've mostly been playing Asdivine Hearts on Steam, along with Bravely Default on 3DS. Love RPGs.

I'm at 94% in Xenoblade Chronicles X. The only things I have left to kill (potentially spoilers maybe) are Luxaar's Xern, Telethia the Endbringer and What's-His-Nuts the Volcano-Worm in Cauldros. Completing these objectives will give me probably less than 1% towards completing the game. The remaining 5% will come from Heart To Hearts and Affinity Missions that will require me to grind obnoxious amounts of character affinity for a short sequence that I'll probably forget about the next day. I have a rant about this but I'm a bit tired and have some work to do so maybe I'll share it tomorrow.

Luxaar's Vern and Telethia are both easier than they appear. The Vern can be taken down with a few anti-mechanoid augments, while Telethia's attacks can be almost completely negated with four ether defense augments, an anti-reflect augment, and being sure to destroy his tail in phase 1. Vortice... yeah, he's a bit tougher. Load up on anti-Piscinoid and enter the fight with enough GP to activate overdrive right away, then just unload on him and hope you can out-DPS him. As for the affinity missions, grinding character affinity is easy with the missions from the network terminal in the barracks. There's one that has you kill a few prone and gives it a lot of affinity for all party members.

Yeah I don't think they'll really be much of an issue. I've been working on a build I found on Reddit for the Mastema White Reaper where you can just obliterate things with the Zenith Canon in one hit.

The thing is, I know about these, and they have been at least a little helpful. But there's a glitch where level 60 characters don't gain any affinity from it whatsoever. So I have some party members that I ground up to level 60 just to try some new strategies but only have like two hearts of affinity. That's the main problem I was going to mention in my rant, but I didn't get around to writing the whole thing out.

This is when you know you're bored in The Sims like I was just recently:

One more minor complaint about Mario Kart 7, I'm not too fond of the long one lap courses. I like the 3 lap courses because if I mess up I can do better on another lap before the race is over, it lets me improve vs, feeling like if I fall behind I can't recover my position.

That's something I experienced in mk8, but I still like them for being different. Plus Big Blue is awesome, and the closest we'll ever get to a new F-zero for the Wii U

FINALLY finished Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 2. I've had the game beaten for a while now, but I finally got the last damn Achievement.

So, the game has something like eight or ten different endings, each of which depends on how each of the four nations are doing politically (Basically, just shuffle Share values around through side-quests) as well as the main character's relationship values with each of the other party members (Set the desired party member in the main character's Back-Row slot and fight enemies, or watch the optional cutscenes for a free rank-up). Getting those wasn't too bad. As long as you know where the cut-off point is, you can set a separate save file near the end of the game so that you only have one or two story missions to do before getting an ending.

There are Achievements for the typical things. Get everybody to the level cap. Get 100,000,000 Credits, Craft 100 different Plans. Those aren't too bad either. The worst is the Plan one, but the others all have ways to manipulate the system and get them quickly. For example, this game has a mechanic like Paper Mario where you can get the first turn by hitting an enemy outside of battle. Use the Remake System, and you can craft the ability for that pre-emptive strike to kill enemies out-right. Craft another ability, and you can kill those enemies outside of battle, but still get the items and experience you would have gotten normally. Once you have that setup, you can just go out hunting what would normally be optional boss fights.

There was an Achievement for killing the strongest optional boss in the game. That one isn't too bad either if you've fully learned how to manipulate the battle system and use delay attacks so the enemy never gets its turn.

The bane of this entire playthrough was something called "Stella's Dungeon". It's harmless at first glance. Send an AI controlled character into a dungeon, and she'll look for stuff for you while you play the rest of the game. If she dies, you lose the things you equipped her with. The final Achievement is to beat this minigame.

Every level in the game unlocks a matching Dungeon, so you need to unlock every single optional level. Later dungeons will require about fifteen to thirty minutes of waiting per-floor, with Dungeons that approach 100 floors. Special Dungeons that are still required need enemy drops to craft. These enemies only spawn after crafting matching Plans that change what enemies populate certain levels. Some of these crafting plans are hidden in invisible treasures that are randomly generated and randomly placed within certain levels. Some of these crafting materials are only dropped by optional bosses that are about on-par with the ultimate boss, but move faster so that your delay strategy doesn't always work, so you need to gather more material to craft even better accessories to keep up. I ended up having to download a special program that automatically fiddles with my computer's System Time just so that each Dungeon attempt wouldn't take over a day of waiting for each one, and save-scummed to prevent losing gear because these Dungeons also get Super-Bosses that will obliterate poor Stella. There is no strategy here, just praying to the Random Number God...

48/50 challenges completed in ALBW. Haven't come across an arena where Link can wall merge yet, and I need to get a weak foe so I can win without being knocked around, since that counts as "stepping".
