I think the outlines are fine; some Z1 sprites do have outlined segments. ;)

A few months ago, I NES-ified the LTTP Big Key, and it wasn't long until after comparing it to the default Boss Key in ZC, that key looked... well, wrong. Not that I have anything against that key though... :shrug:

If the developers would like to add this key in future versions of ZC, go right ahead.

Personally, I'd just replace the 32x32 clusters with tree tiles that take up a 32x32 space, and are layered atop one another.  The clusters of small shrubs are fine, but that's just what I'd do for a better overall visual.  But, since I just took the existing tiles and updated them....

I just thought the layered shrubs would look a lot better than a bunch of repeating single shrub tiles.  The dirt could really use some detail, but I'm unsure on what texture would be the best.  Honestly though, since it appears everywhere, and there's not a single patch of grass in the original, it could be just about anything that's not desert.  Maybe I should've scaled the shrub up, redrawn it for it to be a real 32x32 tile, and made an enhancement off of that...

For those of you that prefer the default ZC Boss key over the new one I posted, I made some minor touch-ups to it...

It's been a while since I've sprited.  I kinda felt like doing the rest of the walking for Link today, as well as preparing his alternate colors.  I was just updating the default poses btw, so there's no jumping or swimming or any of that.  I don't even have those graphics.  Holding items is missing currently.

Looks great! :)

 

One tiny gripe I have though is the way Link holds the small (and Magic) shield while he is facing right (it looks like he's holding it with his fingertips). Perhaps if you tried moving the shield one pixel to the left... just saying. :shrug:

I'd be able to if all this college work wasn't holding me back.  If it's not Accounting, it's Professional Workforce Development II.  I wanted to tackle some enemies next.

I'm not sure why the default Lens of Truth looks like a magnifying glass, so I decided to fix that:

One thing to note, I did use the Lens from Warlock's Assorted Sprites as a base, so credits go to him.
